How can we pray for you today?
“I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know… His incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead…” (Ephesians 1:18-20)
Much of the world celebrated and now Easter is past. This week it’s back to the routine. Does Easter make a difference in your life this week? Does the power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead impact your ordinary day? Do you believe it can? Do you really?
One of my favorite prayers in the Bible is one Paul prayed for the Ephesians. They must have had some of the same problems we do in putting their everyday faith into action. Paul prayed a prayer that we can echo today as our own.
“I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know… His incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead…” (Ephesians 1:18-20)
Do you believe that the same power that raised Jesus from the dead is available to you today? Do you really?
Ask the Lord today to open the eyes of your heart. Ask Him to help you know and understand the hope He has available to you. Begin to believe that His incomparably great power is for your life today.
Easter has come and gone for another year. Yet the significance of it and the power in it is for today for those who believe.
Whatever threatens to bog down your heart this week can be taken to God. Ask Him, with renewed faith, to open the eyes of your heart so that you can know and experience His power in a new and real way. His Holy Spirit can bring wisdom, help, insight, understanding, discernment and even new ideas in areas we are stuck in.
The key is to hand these requests over to God with expectation, believing His resurrection power is available to you. May the eyes of your heart be opened today!
Father God,
I so often live my life without even expecting Your resurrection power to impact my ordinary day. Forgive me for allowing my faith to grow weary and my expectation of You to dim. Today I ask that You would open my eyes to know Your power and to see it at work in my life. Where I have created problems by my own hand, in ___________ or in relationships or finances, I ask You to forgive me and to give me creative thoughts and divine understanding to know what to do next. May my ears and eyes be open to You today. Increase my faith… fill me with Your Holy Spirit… and come with renewed power into my life. I thank you in Jesus’ name, Amen.
Question: Where do you need renewed faith?
What Do You Fear?
What do you fear, and why? Is it holding you back from realizing your full potential?

Dear Claire and Doris, WOW! didnt think anyone would really care this much about teeth problems. i have been alone for so long with no one to help me with my everyday burdens. Everything that happens in my life from my car breaking down to toothaches is all on me. i’m 60 yrs old and boy am i getting tired! Thank you so much for your concern and contributions about this. Age brings the breaking down of our bodies and i do the very best i can to keep maintaining it. Well, i did mention it to a friend of mine and he will be sending me some money towards this tooth problem. So your words went from your lips to God’s ears! Looks like i will have to have it extracted instead of the lazer treatment to save it. The cost of maintaining this body is over the edge. i work two part time jobs with no vacations or weekends to myself. i just work (and thank God for the provision so don’t get me wrong ok?) i pray and pray for a spouse to spend quality time with as i continue to get older yet it’s like i am invisible to the opposite sex. i’m hoping for the restoration of a relationship i had once yet if God doesn’t see him as the right one for me there is nothing i can do anymore. Anyway, ladies, thank you SO much for your prayers. i have printed them out to encourage myself. And let me tell you this…that tooth has actually quieted down over the past 3 days. Even though it needs to be worked on, that horrible pain has subsided. Your compassion and understanding prayers is what helped! May the LORD richly bless you for this. ~HUG
Hi Trisha,
As I read your comment on our site this morning, my heart ached for you. I know how much a bad toothache can hurt and I wanted to see if there was anything I could do to help. So I did some research. There is a national list of free and low cost dental clinics here:
http://www.needhelppayingbills.com/html/dental_clinics.html
If you scroll down you’ll see all the states listed at the bottom of the page. Maybe there’s a clinic close to you that can help? Some dentists are willing to do the work on a payment plan if that’s an option that might work for you. I know that in my town there’s a free dental clinic attached to the food bank. That could be another place to look.
I absolutely believe that God CAN and does care about all areas of our life, even our teeth and especially our pain. Let me pray for you right now:
Dear Father, I know that You care about our pain and I know that You can see Trisha right now and you know how much pain this tooth is causing her. I pray for relief for her Father. Whether that’s relief by Your hand of healing or relief in the form of a dentist willing to do the work at a price she can manage, I pray that Trisha would know today that she is not alone in this and that you have not forgotten her. If there’s something that can help, I pray that You would prompt them to take action today. If there’s someone Trisha knows that she hasn’t thought to ask, or a contact that she has forgotten about, bring it to her mind. Or if there’s some money that could just find it’s way to her, that would work too. I know that You have good plans for her and I pray that she would get to see Your hand of mercy up close and personally today. Thank you for loving her so very much. In your name I pray, Amen.
Thank you Trisha, Kay and Yvonne for taking the time to comment on this devotional. It is such a good reminder to us that we really need to believe that His Resurrection Power is available to us today.
Trisha, may I pray for you right now?
Dear Heavenly Father,You know Trisha’s need for funds to get her teeth fixed. You are the God of the big and the God of the details. Lord You promise to meet all of our needs to I pray that You would surprise her with your provision. Show her the way Lord. Amen
Trisha, have you checked at a local dental school? Sometimes they do work for free as practice for the dental students.
Yvonne, my two daughters live far away from me with 5 of our 7 grandchildren so I know what it is to miss them. But we love using Skype and Face Time to regularly communicate with the kids and we have an awesome relationship with them. And when we go visit, we are with them 24/7! It’s great! Honest! God will be with you!
Gail, i just opened this today and it brought tears to my eyes. My faith does grow “dim” like you say. i need to get my teeth worked on. It’s going to cost hundreds of dollars. i don’t know what to do. i need the Holy Spirit to help me figure something out. Right now my upper tooth is shooting pain into my sinus, down the side of my head and into my ear. i can’t drink or eat comfortablly and because my sinus is stuffed up i can only breathe through my mouth and the very air going in my mouth shoots pain into the tooth! i know God is concerned about all aspects of our lives so this would include my teeth! i don’t know what to do. Can i EXPECT God to DO something about this?
Our church is still celebrating Easter. Easter Sunday is one day but we continue to recognize the impact and power of God’s love for us that Easter represents.
Praise God from whom all blessings flow.
This is very good for reflecting on yourself and your life.
