Our perspective on sex can be influenced by many different factors:  past experiences, libido, gender, age!! Consider a few statements.  With which do you identify the most?

  • One person may view sex as an expression of affection. The other may view sex as a result of affection.
  • One person may view sex as a way to build an emotional bond. The other may view sex as an expression of an emotional bond.
  • One person may view sex as a way to a healthy relationship. The other may view sex as coming from a healthy relationship.
  • One person may view sex as a way of feeling close. The other may view sex as a result of feeling close.

Action: Meet your spouse for a romantic date.
Discuss:  Which statements reflect your own experience and perspective?

Share:  What factors influence your perspective?
Reflect together:   Have any of these differences created frustration in your relationship? How might understanding your partner’s perspective help ease your frustration?
