Are you waiting on God for something? Let us pray for you.
“The name of the LORD is a fortified tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.” (Proverbs 18:10)
Do you know that if you are a believer in Christ Jesus, you have been adopted into God’s family? Through faith in Jesus, God is now your heavenly Father and you are his daughter. In Ephesians 1:5 we read that, “he predestined us to be adopted as his sons (daughters) through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will.” God was delighted the day He adopted you into His family.
God wants you to call Him “Abba”. Abba means “Daddy”. In Galatians 4:6 we read, “Because you are his sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, “Abba, Father.” Since you have the very Spirit of God residing within you, you can call out to Him in prayer by saying, “Abba, Father, Daddy”.
Like little children running to their daddy, God is waiting for you to run to His loving arms. Psalm 91:14-15 says, “Because he loves me,” says the LORD, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.” The Lord says, when you acknowledge and call upon His name, He will answer. He will be with you in the midst of your trouble and deliver you with honor. God is waiting for you to cry out to Him because He personally cares about you. He is your unfailing, trustworthy, reliable Daddy in the sky.
Sadly, you might have developed a distorted view of your heavenly Father, depending upon your relationship with your earthly father. If your father abandoned, failed, abused, or degraded your worth, know that God loves you unconditionally. He values and sees you as the “apple of His eye”. God does not want you to hold a distorted view of Him. He desires that your perception of Him is proper, honorable, and grows as your relationship with Him grows.
To further your intimacy with God, become acquainted with His names. Here are a few you can draw upon when seeking Him in prayer.
JEHOVAH-JIREH: The Lord My Provider
JEHOVAH-RAPHA: The Lord My Healer
EL SHADDAI: The All-Sufficient One, God Almighty
EI ROI: The God Who Sees Me
JEHOVAH-ROHI: The Lord My Shepherd
JEHOVAH-NISSI: The Lord My Banner (God on the battlefield)
JEHOVAH-SHALOM: The Lord My Peace
IMMANUEL: God With Us
Names of Jesus: Savior, Redeemer, Messiah, The Way, The Truth, The Life, Bright Morning Star, Bread of Life, Lord of lords, The Son of God, The Light of the world
Jesus said, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest.” (Mathew 11:28) God is waiting for you to run to Him, like a little child, so He can give you a hug of comfort, encouragement, blessing, favor and so much more. Do not be afraid to draw close to your heavenly Daddy. There is no greater love than the love He has waiting for you. Today, may you call upon Him, “Abba, Father, Daddy”.
Prayer: God help me to see You as You really are – a loving Father who always has my best interests at heart. Help me to be quick to run to You. Amen.
Questions: Do you see God as your father? What does that mean to you?
What Do You Fear?
What do you fear, and why? Is it holding you back from realizing your full potential?

Dear Paul, I pray that you will not feel as if you are a failure as a husband and father. It is never to late to begin a fresh and make things right within your home. So many people chase after the things of this world while neglecting the blessed things God has given unto them..spouses, children, friends. Today seek to ask God for forgivness and His Holy Spirit to guide you into becoming the wonderful man He would have you be. Not sure what type of role model you had while growing up BUT this could be a link to part of your lack of knowing how to be the father God destined you to become. God is great…He is the God of second chances and He is more than willing to aid you along the right path for you and your beloved ones. Just because you are a man does not mean you can not cry out to Him for help. Pray that God will bless and protect you and your family. Remember that we have an enemy (satan) that seeks to kill, steal and destroy…take your stance as head of the household and take back what he has been trying to steal from you! Ask God where He would have you start in making amends to your wife and daughter. So long as you are sincere He will guide you through this wonderful change that will take place. Be honest and open with your wife as to how you feel and decide to work together in making things right. If you have a close male friend that is doing well managing his household seek godly advice from him or your Pastor.
Paul, At this time I would like to pray for you.
Father God, I ask that you be with your son Paul this day and bring him to a wonderful place of being the man you called him to be. Let not the enemy tear him away from being a good spouse and great father to his family. Holy Spirit guide Paul into truth and help him apply such to his life. Abba Father, Fill Paul with your abundant LOVE so he can share such with his beloved ones. Allow Paul to rid himself of the lies from the enemy…all guilt and shame! Renew Pauls mind, freshen his heart and bring your peace, joy and love into his household. We know it is never to late to seek your forgivness and to make things new again. May such be the case for Paul and his beloved ones. In the mighty name of Jesus, Amen
I feel like a failure as a Father and a husband. I haven’t directed enough time for my 12 year old daughter. Same is said for my wife. I just feel hopeless.
It is okay to “not know how” to seek God’s face. You don’t have to be perfect. All you need are baby steps. Here are a few steps to get you started. Go to God in prayer as you would your natural parent–say, “Daddy, please help me to know you.” Ask Him to put people in your path who can teach you about God/Jesus. Get a bible and read a little each day. Ask God to cleanse you of all unrighteousness. Simply put–just spend time with God in prayer and the word of God (the bible). God will teach you unsearchable things you do not know. Moody Radio has sound, reliable bible teaching that will help you. I will also pray for you. Be encouraged.
Jeremiah 33:3
King James Version (KJV)
Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.
I do not understand how to do this, I want to so badly! I just can’t seem to find the right path to God.
Dear Wincy and GGirl,
It is a delight to have received your beautiful comments regarding our beloved Abba Father. I am certain you put a great big smile on HIS face as you expressed your love for Him. May His love, joy, comfort and favor be with you all the days of your lives and into eternity. The thrill, excitement and joy that shall come when all His children finally get to see Him face-to-face. Wow!
Father God,
Thank you for choosing to adopt us into your family. Thank you for being our heavenly Father who watches over us daily and has our best interest in mind. We love you Abba, Father, God…Amen
I always love to call abba father because He is the only person on whom I lay my trust. Because His love is unconditional and he never gets tired of loving me. Every time I run to Him in times of weary and deserted and He waits for me all the time. He comforts me. He values me and I feel safe in His hands always. This passage was so touching cause it is written about my Father and me.
I Love my Father so much cause He has called me by name
This is beautiful!! It is great to have a father who has our best interest at heart. I love you Lord as my Heavenly Father –the one who meets every need, who orders and directs my every step. I pray for every absent father, every present and loving father, every insufficient father. I pray that God will teach men how to be loving and caring fathers and to be vulnerable with their children and families. Praise God for strong, wise, and holy-ghost filled fathers.
Dear Kahu, What a lovely comment you left. Thank you so much for sharing and expressing your love for Abba, Father, God with us today. You are so correct in saying you can not keep it for yourself…it is the BEST love (Agape Love) that we are to share with others. When His Spirit is at work within you it flows out and blesses so many others. May His love continue to flow through you and unto others. God Bless You Kahu in all that you seek to do in His name. Have a wonderful, blessed day!
Although I Love my earthly father, and appreciate all that he has taught me to survive in any situation or circumstance. I Love my Heavenly Father more because to me he is life and without him I couldn’t survive. I thank my Heavenly Father for waking me up every morinin so I can learn to get it right. I thank him for making the ultimate sacrifice. It is through his son Jesus Christ that I am able to be called his child. It is through Jesus Christ that I am able to call him abba. I thank my Heavenly Father for all that he has given me. I believe that it is through Jesus Christ that I am given the ultimate Love that any Father can ever give his child. Without this kind of Unconditional Love Agape Love I could not survive, I would not live. So, you ask what dose this mean to me, to define such Love would be over whelming. I just embrace it and be thankful with all my life, spirit, Love by sharing it with others, because it would kill me to keep it to myself.
