Is It Arrogant to Say Only Christianity is True?

Christian Arrogance

Are Christians arrogant for believing they are right? Christians have been deemed as egotistical — even bigoted —  for believing in Jesus Christ and not being accepting of other religious views. How do the claims of Christianity fare against claims of Buddhism and Islam?  RZIM explores the topic of Christian arrogance, the authenticity of Christian world views,  and presents several key points regarding Christian beliefs. its not arrogant to say that christianity is true becasue the only to raise from the dead is JESUS and no on else can claim that

Thank you so much, Sharon! I love your response, and the truth that you shared when you stated, “We are never taught in Scripture to look to other Christians for our salvation as they too are sinners. What help is that? Rather we look in faith to Jesus Christ as He did keep God’s law completely and perfectly for us.” It is absolutely correct that, no matter how many of us believers go astray and turn to the right or to the left, the Way is still the Way, and it is the ONLY Way! And, praise be to God, Jesus Christ died on Calvary’s cross so that we can confess our sins and repent and be restored in our relationship with Him. Amen!

Doesn’t change the fact that the way is still the way. Christians who falter on the way don’t alter the fact that the Way is still the way. It only shows that we need to have our imperfections traded for Christ perfections. 1 Corinthians 5:21 says this. ” God made Him who knew no sin to be made sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. “. In other words, when we place our faith in Jesus Christ as the only one who can save us from our deep sinfulness, then our sin is exchanged from His perfect Life. We are never taught in Scripture to look to other Christians for our salvation as they too are sinners. What help is that? Rather we look in faith to Jesus Christ as He did keep God’s law completely and perfectly for us.

Joe, as it’s been said before, if I give directions to someone as to what is the way from one village to another, just because I walk the road drunk and fall off into the ditch, d

Hi Joe, I appreciate your frustration with Christians whose lives don’t seem to match up with what Jesus taught. His words point us all to the truth and we need to accept what He said and live it out. What are the things He said? “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to The Father except through Me.” (John 14:6) “God loved the world so much that He gave His one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16) “Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in Me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5) “And they all said, ‘Are You the Son of God, then?’ And He said to them, ‘Yes, I am.’” (Luke 22:70)

As Andy Bannister said in this video, the question is not “Is arrogant to say only Christianity is true?” Jesus’ claim to be the one and only Son of God is an entirely unique claim of the Christian faith that sets it apart from all other religions. The central figures of all other religions theoretically could be replaced by some other individual and still be true. But if you remove Jesus Christ from history Christianity falls apart. If His claim is accurate than it is not arrogance but an invitation for everyone to follow the Truth!

Fortunately for all of us, Jesus promise, “God did not send His Son into the world to condemn it, but to save it” (John 3:17) is not dependent on our ability to follow any rules but instead on His willingness to die in our place so that He could pay the penalty for our sin and rebellion against God. That’s why He then said, “There is no judgment awaiting those who trust Him.” (John 3:18)

Very arrogant. We don’t know if it is true or not because Christians can’t, won’t or don’t apply the doctrine as laid down by Jesus. Christians can say what ever they want, but what does it matter. The doctrine is too difficult or cumbersome for them to use so they will never get the intended results. I was speaking to and old man today about the seven heavenly virtues and the seven deadly sins. I explained that the seven deadly sins were nothing more than the opposites of the seven heavenly virtues. He never realized that until today. Eighty years of Christianity and he is just now seeing the first rung on his spiritual ladder. Yes it is arrogant to claim something you don’t understand and can’t apply is the only path to salvation and spiritual excellence.
