“Those who know your name trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you.” (Psalm 9:10)

I have always been with you. I have seen your past and I can redeem it. With me, all things work together for good.

I know your thoughts, that you doubt me, my goodness, my ability to take your brokenness and make something worthwhile out of it.

Trust me. I am your faithful God, filled with mercy and forgiveness and the power to redeem all things. Behold, I am making all things new.

Give yourself to me and I will make you strong and wonderful. I will refine you as my Holy Spirit burns in you, not destroying, but like the bush before Moses, giving light, truth, direction, hope and a mission.

You haven’t lost any time.

The ways in which you have known me were good, but I have something better for you now. You will–and must–pass from one glory to another. For if there was no new glory for today, would I be worthy of your worship? Indeed not. Creation would overcome the Creator and the physical would limit my ability to communicate to you. Instead, creation obeys me and there are boundless things you can learn about me, from the blade of grass to the towering cedar, from the whispering wind to the torrential storm.

If you search for me with all your heart, you will find me. Draw near to me and I will draw near to you. I will live inside you and you will know it is I for your life will begin to produce life-giving fruit. How will you know you are full of me? Only at the point of overflow will you be certain; a heavenly overflow that smells of a sweetness, at first unfamiliar to you, until our breaths become as one.

You haven’t lost any time. Return to me in a new way today.

Love,

Your ever-pursuing Father

Father, Help me to understand more of who You are.  Amen

    Hi Ian,

I am glad that these words have brought you comfort and hope. It is true, Ian, that you have not lost any time in serving the Lord, for His timing is perfect, and as Eric notes in his letter to us from our heavenly Father, God makes all things work out for good for those of us He has called according to His good plan and purpose:

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28, NKJV)

That includes you and all of us who love the Lord Jesus and desire to please Him with all of our hearts.

The truth that you have not lost any time becomes even more evident, Ian, when you look at the following passage from the Book of Acts. This section of Scripture explains how the Lord our God not only planned you and desired you to be here now, but also He planned for when and where you would live, and with whom and for how long! I pray these verses help you to know just how much the Lord God Almighty loves you and holds you in the palm of His hands and has every moment of your life in His providential care, Ian:

It is He Himself Who gives life and breath and all things to all [people]. 26 And He made from one [common origin, one source, one blood] all nations of men to settle on the face of the earth, having definitely determined [their] allotted periods of time and the fixed boundaries of their habitation (their settlements, lands, and abodes), 27 So that they should seek God, in the hope that they might feel after Him and find Him, although He is not far from each one of us. 28 For in Him we live and move and have our being. (Acts 17:25-27, Amplified Bible)

Thank you, Ian, for sharing your heart and your concerns with us here at Power to Change. Your views are valuable to us!

This was a very touching piece, knowing that after everything, after falling down numerous times i am still worthy of his time and love. it is both converting and feels me with regret that i have hurt the only person that loves me time and again. I have for the past 2 to 3 years tried to get to know God but i have come short maybe i was looking in the wrong places. I promise to seek him out in the right places and stay on my feet this time.

    Dear Abiodun olufemi Bamgbose,

I just want to agree with what you are standing for in faith– that you will be completely restored in every way. Isn’t it so great that the gospel really is the “Good News”?! When we are serving the Lord, nothing we ever do will be wasted. A verse in 1 Corinthians 15:58 touches on this concept of time, “Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.” You can be assured that your time is not wasted when you are spending it with the Lord. There is also a promise in Romans 8:28 that you can hold on to for restoration in your life. Do you know it? In this verse it says that God works for the good of those who love Him who are called according to His purpose. So in every circumstance, God has your best interests in mind and He does want to restore you.

Thank-you Abba for your grace and we pray that your heavenly riches would be poured over Aiodun to the fullest measure. Thank-you that you work all things for good and that nothing is ever wasted as we remain in you. We pray this in Jesus’ name. Amen.
