The Surrendered Life

Written by Joel Pukalo

“Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ.” (Philippians 3:8, NLT)

The surrendered life is a life with Jesus at the center of every aspect of your life. All personal dreams and ambitions have been completely discarded to serve and follow the Father’s plan. The surrendered life is a choice to follow in Jesus footsteps and live every moment to fulfill God’s will on this earth.  It’s following Him anywhere, anytime, at any cost to do anything.

Submission focuses on giving something up. Surrender is simply acknowledging that Christ has ransomed us at an infinite cost and we owe Him our entire lives. While submission focuses on self-sacrifice, surrender is awakening to the reality that I belong to God and He is so worthy and so holy that He deserves my complete attention. He alone deserves all of my affection in life. My every thought, word and action must be fixed on Him continually.

In submission, we make the conscious choice to let go of that control, but the actual surrender is something only God can empower us to do through partnership with the Holy Spirit. When we submit, we “give in,” keeping the focus on ourselves. When we surrender, we “give up,” putting the focus on God where it belongs.

The surrendered life is the act of giving back to Jesus the life He granted you. It’s relinquishing control, rights, power, and direction – all the things you do and say. It’s totally resigning your life over to his hands, to do with as He pleases.

God, I want to be fully surrendered to You. Help me to place everything in my life at Your disposal.  Amen

Thomas I spent a long time running from my problems. Its so exhausting always trying to run from your problems! I was so tired of running one day I eventually gave up. Completely hopeless I was about to give up on life completely but someone showed me that all of my problems have already been answered in the person of Jesus Christ!

He took my place. Thomas He took your place. On the cross He has solved your problems past, present and future. God has already solved all of our problems and He is only waiting for you to come and learn of the glorious redemptive life He has planned for you.

Thomas God desires to take your old life with all your problems and make everything new. He has a plan to solve every problem. To bring you peace and true rest. He designed a perfect script for your life and longs to help you live it. But He loves you so much He leaves the choice up to you.

I am praying for you Thomas and excited for the plans God has for you as you surrender to His perfect plan for your life.

Do you want to surrender your life completely to God Thomas? Do you want to be able to trust God to guide how you can face your problems rather than run from them? It may seem like a scary thing but I guarantee that no matter how hard it will get, He will give you the strength and wisdom you need to make the right choices.

  • Thompson says:

Living a surrended life like letting God take charge over everything. We only need to trust Him and in all ways acknowledge hHim and He shall direct our paths.

  • Thomas rose says:

I have not surrendered my life to God. I surrendered to go for about a week then that was it. The real problem is me and running from my problems.
