Prayer Is a Lifeline
Share this devo on Facebook and Twitter: When we make prayer a priority our relationship with God flourishes. http://powertochange.com/blogposts/2013/09/05/prayer-is-a-lifeline/ #LifeDevo
“Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.” (Colossians 4:2)
It seems that the main topic of conversation these days is RAIN. When will it come and how much? The farmers where I live depend on it like a lifeline.
We too have a lifeline in our lives. Through our prayers, we have a way to communicate with God. We can speak to Him our joys, our concerns, and even talk to him about rain.
Each day, we can turn to the Lord in prayer and submit ourselves to him. In order to be devoted to prayer, we have to set aside specific times to pray and we need to make prayer a priority. When we make prayer a priority, the relationship we share with Him will flourish and grow as if He had sent nourishing rain down upon us from Heaven.
What is your prayer life like? Is God your lifeline?
Heavenly Father, we thank you for the opportunity to approach You each day through our prayers. We know that we only need to speak our thoughts and You hear us and love us enough to respond to us in our own time. We are thankful Lord, for all that You do for us and for all that You are in our lives. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
Start each day in prayer. Even if you are short on time, take just a few minutes to spend time with God. Then patiently wait to hear from the Lord, having a heart full of thanksgiving.
