Do you crave destiny? Destiny doesn’t mean passively entering into tomorrow, to be a victim of the cruel and unchangeable fate of the universe. Rather, it is becoming actively engaged in the creation of tomorrow, and discovering the purposes you were always meant for.

In this video (this is part 2, watch part 1 here) author Erwin McManus explores some of the ideas found in his book, Soul Cravings. Here he focuses on what destiny is all about, and how God has called you accomplish something bigger than you ever thought possible.

When God gives you a glimpse of the potential he has for you, it can be scary. You may even wonder, is God talking to the right person? Is this really me? I was born for great things? It will take courage to accept this invitation, but courage grounded on a firm foundation.

Usually people talk about “seeking God.” But is it possible that God has been actively seeking you for a long time, possibly even a lifetime? God is not trying to avoid us. In fact we often try to avoid God. He is already knocking at your door: Will you let Him into your life?

World Cup Soccer in Lego

It’s pretty hard to ignore that the World Cup is happening right now. But for those of us who aren’t huge fans, a month long competition feels like a LOT of soccer. Just tell me when we get to the final!

If you’re looking for a small dose of World Cup action, vuvuzelas included, check out this video from legofussball.eu . The creator Fabian Moritz has done a brilliant job capturing the key moments form the England vs the United States game which resulted in a tie (I’m told this was very surprising.)

Watch the clip, you’ll be glad you did! (And tomorrow at the office you can sagely nod when someone mentions how FIFA should have banned vuvuzelas. They’re totally ruining the game!)

Have you taken any steps to reduce your carbon footprint? A “carbon footprint” is “the measure of the amount of carbon dioxide … that goes into the atmosphere as you go about your daily life.” So in terms of your car, it includes not just the amount of CO2 gas emitted, but also the resultant CO2 gas produced for all of the other necessary requirements for your car to run.

Last year we interviewed people to ask them what they have done to help the environment. Here’s what they said:

Ipad Kitty is Front Page News

The most viewed video on YouTube today is “Iggy Inviestigates an Ipad”. In the video Iggy the house cat chases a cursor around the screen of a brand new, $500 computer. You can find the link on the homepage of CNN.com . Riveting stuff.

I can’t decide what surprises me more – that someone let their cat play with their ipad or that the Iggy video is not unique. A quick search on YouTube pulled up a quite a few results. Iggy’s owner assures YouTube commenters that the screen was not damaged by the cat’s claws. Thank goodness for that.

I wonder what it says about us as a society that we’ll sit down and watch videos like this? It’s nothing against Iggy personally, crazy pet videos are bound to be an Oscar category in a couple of years. I wonder if it’s proof that we have too much time on our hands or proof that we have too little?

A friend of mine likes watching low budget reality TV shows because she doesn’t have to think. There’s no plot to follow or complicated themes to keep her up at night. Sometimes at the end of a long and crazy day, we just need something to zone out to. (My personal favorite is still cuteoverload.com – full of pictures of cute animals, that site can cure almost any case of the doldrums.)

3 Minute Break

This has been a tough week. With all of the heartbreak, all of the horror and helplessness of the images on TV hearts are heavy. If you need a break, watch this. I have never seen someone jump like that. It made me smile, I hope it can do the same for you. If you would like like to talk to someone, we always have mentors available.
