Breakthough Prayer

Members of Breakthrough Prayer Ministry are responsible to familiarize themselves with, and abide by, the policies and guidelines of Breakthrough Prayer Ministry.

These guiding principles are designed for the integrity and protection of the intercessor, team and the ministry of Breakthrough Prayer Ministry. Those who feel they cannot abide by these policies are asked to remove themselves from any involvement or representation under the name of Breakthrough Prayer Ministry.

1. A Breakthrough Prayer Ministry team will consist of two or more members, but will not consist of one man and one woman alone unless they are married.

2. The Breakthrough Prayer Ministry team’s prayer hour location and time is chosen by agreement of the members involved. Members adhere to the agreed length of time of the prayer meeting. Honoring this agreement shows respect and garners the trust of those who make their homes or other locations available for the meetings.

3. The Breakthrough Prayer Ministry mandate does not include lobbying, protesting, or pressuring in social or political causes, regardless of how worthy the cause. If a member has a personal concern, he or she must pursue involvement on their own and never under the name or banner of Breakthrough Prayer Ministry.

4. Confidential information will be collected, used and disclosed only in accordance with Power to Change’s privacy policy and will not be disclosed by anyone within Breakthrough Prayer Ministry, except where required by law.

5. Opportunity is given to Breakthrough Prayer Ministry members to align with God’s plan alongside this ministry by registering under the name Breakthrough Prayer Ministry, a ministry of Power to Change Ministries.

6. Breakthrough Prayer Ministry members, teams, facilitators, coordinators and champions are required to be familiar with and abide by Breakthrough Prayer Ministry policies, guidelines, and statement of faith in order to have the right to use the Breakthrough Prayer Ministry name in any manner of representation.

7. As an interdenominational, intergenerational and intercultural movement with a primary purpose of evangelistic prayer and discipleship, Breakthrough Prayer Ministry chooses a sensitive approach policy concerning the biblical teaching and practice of spiritual gifts, including tongues. According to Scripture, use of these gifts will be neither extremely charismatic nor conservative. This balanced position acknowledges God’s Sovereign distribution of spiritual gifts for the advancement of His kingdom and edification of the body of Christ – the Church. It highly encourages mutual respect for one another’s gifting for the sake of unity, which may include restraint at times. Our purpose is to pray in agreement unified by the Spirit which fosters unity and respect encouraging the Scriptural operating premise to be “OIL” – Orderly In Love.

8. Breakthrough Prayer Ministry domain members, teams, facilitators, coordinators or champions are not to sponsor or make endorsements without the expressed written consent of Breakthrough Prayer Ministry’s national office.

9. Because members believe that what God is doing through Breakthrough Prayer Ministry is significant to the spiritual well being of the people in their sphere of influence of their city, Breakthrough Prayer Ministry respectfully requests and trusts that they prayerfully consider at what level they can become a financial partner in this ministry.

10. A person with clear call, heart, passion and skill desiring to serve the promotion of  Breakthrough Prayer Ministry as a domain coordinator, or city prayer champion in their established area will complete an application package, which includes a personal application form and a reference form to be completed by their pastor. Applicants are also required to sign the Statement of Faith.
