Apple Candle Holders

Materials:

  • Apple
  • Apple corer
  • Taper candle
  • Evergreen branch

Directions:

1. Purchase apples that will sit upright and are quite firm. A soft apple will not last as long.

2. Core out a hole in the apple to fit a taper candle. Make the hole deep enough to insert the candle securely. Be careful not to make the hole too big or your candle will not sit solidly in its “holder”.

3. Break off 2 inch pieces of evergreen. Cover the apple by inserting these pieces into the skin. You may need to make guide holes with toothpicks for easy insertion. The juice from the apple will keep the evergreens fresh for a few days. Set the Apple Candle Holder on a plate or tray.

4. Decorate as desired, or leave plain in its natural beauty and symbolism. You may want to use these for a decoration until Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, and then light them.
