I like fowl like chickens.. I like to eat a variety of both meat and chicken. I am very healthy as i eat what my body asks for. If I crave for chicken, then I eat it.

Regarding “dominion,” I think that God gave humans dominion over creation in the same way that He has dominion over us. God’s dominion over us entails wise, powerful, and loving protection, provision, instruction (including correction), and an invitation to participate in what He’s doing (i.e., establishing His Kingdom on earth). Our dominion of creation should also be established with wisdom, power, and love.

Carly, I agree with your points. I think that there has been much cruelty to animals in our human history and it unfortunately continues today. Though we are given dominion in our world, I think people take it overboard. Treating animals with cruelty is just one example among others. Another is the way we treat this planet, which is given to us to enjoy, not to harm and destroy. The only comfort I can get is to do my part and buy animal meat that has been treated with kindness (not from meat packing plants) and to trust that God will judge humans for their terror on animals.

Just a thought from Genesis…God gave us dominion over the animals. Can anyone respond to that. What does it mean to you?

Could we please stop talking about animals as though they were just “meat”? God made them with the ability to suffer and feel pain, as well as to think and experience emotions. He also originally made them to be humankind’s helpers (not food source). Killing and consuming is something we should not take lightly or for granted. I’m appalled at the way some Christians talk about animals as if they were rocks or pieces of machinery. They may have less capabilities (mental, physical, etc.) than humans, but it doesn’t mean we can treat them however we want. We don’t do that to babies or elderly people or ill people or handicapped people, do we? Heck, we don’t even do that to our dogs and cats! Isn’t it even more ridiculous that we raise some to be slaughtered and consumed while we raise others to be companions (even members of the family)?

But as far as the is it meat at all discussion I think God said he made them all animals I don’t think he specified names like chicken, beef, or reptile. He just made them animals and told Adam to name them and Jesus tells us it’s not what a man puts in his mouth that makes him unclean but what comes out of his mouth.
But no animals were chemically altered in those days and I feel confident that God wouldn’t consider chemically changed or enhanced animals ( not how he created them ) food either

I totally agree with James it no longer tastes like meat or looks like it after they make a 3 week old chicken look like a 6 month old chicken with steroids, not to mention antibiotics, hormones and feed them fake cheap food.
Unless you raise your own or buy from a trusted free range organic place it’s not even food.

Chicken is an organism of the class Aves (bird), of the Phylum Chordata (having a vertebrae), in the kingdom Animalia (being an animal). Thus, I stand by my original statement.
