The Language of Color

Did you know that color has a dramatic impact on your customers?

We’re all affected by the color we see–both physiologically and psychologically. Certain colors have an enormous influence over your customer’s behavior.

Here are some examples:

  • Blue
    Pumps people up. Proven to increase energy. Weight lifters should lift in a blue room. Production people will produce more in a blue room. Not a good color for hospitals.
  • Red
    The food color. Ever notice that restaurants use red a lot? It makes you hungry by increasing your body’s metabolism.
  • Pink
    A calming color. Used in prisons to control violent occupants.
  • Hunter green
    The money color–bound to influence.
  • Dove grey
    The color of most major US airports. It’s the color to use for executives.
  • Protecting the earth: Can you be an atheist and an environmentalist?
    This generation: Finding hope in the face of AIDS
