Karen, I really feel for you. Christmas for me tends to be a blah time, but as you mentioned we need to focus on Christ at Christmas time and not focus on us. I have also over the last year developed a ministry for the Lord to the homelss people in Winnipeg. I simply make about 40 to 80 snadwiches and hand them out at a local mission and also where I see the need. I may see a person begging on the corned and I will give them a sandwich. Idon't usually carry cash with me so all I can give them is a sandwich. I always have to look for someone who is far worse off than I am. The Lord has yet to let me down. I wish you all the joy that you can experience at Christmas time. Find someone who needs a friend and become their friend. God Bless you richly this CHRISTmas time.

This article, good as it is, does not address a situation in which some of us find ourselves. It presupposes that there are family members/loved ones to share Christmas with and to do for (or overdo for). I really miss the days when we were a family circle. This year I attended a "Blue Christmas" service, and I know that there are a lot of other hurting people. Obviously we need to focus on the birth of Jesus and what He means to us. But it is still painful, and I will be glad when "the holidays" are over.

Thanks for the grinch- busting tips.It remind me of some of the things I used to try and complete. Now, I am following a slower path when the family has decreased and no longer in the physical to enjoy. I learn to live daily as if each day is a"Holiday"

May I use your article for our Marriage Mentor Newsletter to go out this Month (December)? I will give you all the credit. I am just trying to find articles about marriage & the holidays for our Marriage Mentro newsletter. Not formally published, just sent to a group of around 40.
Thank you for your consideration.
