LOVE According to the BIBLE
1 Corinthians 13:1-13
If I could speak in any language in heaven or on earth but didn’t love others, I would only be making meaningless noise like a loud gong or a clanging cymbal.
If I had the gift of prophecy and if I knew all the mysteries of the future and knew everything about everything, but didn’t love others, what good would I be?
And if I had the gift of faith so that I could speak to a mountain and make it move, without love I would be no good to anybody.
If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it; but if I didn’t love others, I would be of no value whatsoever.
Love is patient and kind.
Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude.
Love does not demand its own way.

Love is not irritable, and it keeps no record of when it has been wronged.
It is never glad about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out.
Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.
Love will last forever, but prophecy and speaking in unknown languages and special knowledge will all disappear.
Now we know only a little, and even the gift of prophecy reveals little! But when the end comes, these special gifts will all disappear.
It’s like this: When I was a child, I spoke and thought and reasoned as a child does. But when I grew up, I put away childish things. Now we see things imperfectly as in a poor mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God knows me now.
There are three things that will endure – faith, hope, and love – and the greatest of these is love.
This is the greatest chapter in the Bible about love as it says it the way it is!
U r made by God. why ? because he loves you sooooo much he give his own life for you….. who would do this in 2011 ?
Wilesha, this is the first time I’m reading your plea for help (10 months after you wrote). The answer is in Jesus! Ask Him to come into your heart, to forgive your failures, and to fill you with His LOVE.
dal bahadur gurung, the same goes for you, and your timing is perfect, as God was waiting for you to ask! The answer is in Jesus. Let me use the “4 Spiritual Laws” to explain how it happens (Each law has Bible verses to back it up):
1. God loves you and created you to know Him personally. (John 3:16, John 17: 3)
2. Man is sinful and separated from God, so he cannot know Him personally or experience His love. (Romans 3:23, 6:23). Through religion and through good works we try to reach heaven, but cannot reach high enough to experience God’s nearness.
3. Jesus Christ is the only provision for man’s sin. Through Him alone God reached down, so we can know Him personally & experience His love. (Romans 5:8, 1Corinthians 15:3-6, John 14:6).
4. We must individually receive Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord; then we can know God personally and experience His love. (John 1:12, Ephesians 2:8-9, John 3:1-8).
Jesus himself asks us to come, as we read in Revelation 3:20
We can ask HIM right now to come into our heart and be our Savior and friend.
Here is a suggested prayer:
Lord Jesus, I want to know You personally. Thank You for dying on the cross for my sins. I open the door of my life and receive you as my Savior and Lord. Thank you for forgiving me of my sins and giving me eternal life, Take control of the throne of my life. Make me the kind of person You want me to be. Amen.
Now you need to thank God for accepting you into His royal family. Secondly, it is important that you tell a friend what has just happened to you. You are a new person in Christ!
We are so glad that you found our site dal bahadur. Wanting to experience the love of God in your life is a good start, although we really can’t demand that God show us more of His love because He has already shown us all of His love through the gift of His son, Jesus Christ. Here is a great article about God and love http://powertochange.com/discover/faith/loveandgod/ . It explains it really well.

So true kim, love is both patient AND KIND! we could use a lot more kindness in this world!
love is patient aND KIND
Mae ann you are so right when you said that love is something that you really can’t understand and that God’s love truly is incomparable. We are so unlike God that it is really hard for us in our humanness to comprehend His love, that it never ends, never changes, and is absolutely steadfast!
God’s love is uncomparable…unlike man that it could fades…but God is so amazing..His love endureth forever..God is good
love is something that you cant understand…it is a feeling of being confused..other say that love can change yor life..but for me its depends on what’s the outcome of the love that you bestowed in one person
Absolutely, God’s love is the only love that satisfy us and meet our deepest longings. Yes, I agree with you that human love only last for a while and also is subject to situations and emotions that interfere. The winds of emotions. God’s love is stable and gives us security no matter where we find ourselves. It is a reason for praise and we are only scratching the surface about God’s love because according to the Bible it cannot be measured. Now, that should fill us with wonder. How big is God’s love? Any guess?
so often we look for love everywhere and we expect people to be able to provide us with the kind of love that fills us up,fact is where there is the great i am (God almighty) there is love and if God doesnt form an integral part of all our relationships then we are limited to experience the kind of love that is defined by fellow humans, which inevitably lasts for a certain period, but God wants us to experience everlasting love,,,amazing!
This is fantastic!True love is putting God in your relationship and makes him one of your topic….really undescribable feelings!
I understand what everybody is trying to say, but I want to know how do you find “love” according to the bible… I can’t find it anywhere and my research paper due date doesn’t necessarily give me any spare time to really search it out… PLEASE HELP
that is true love which human have forgot. but i still believe this kind of love still alive among human life. it is His love for us. Love speaks loudly than everything… you have anything but no love, it is nothing.
This sums it all up! The Word is great!
God Bless you
