The above author mentions both mathematics and probability in his essay. Since there are no citations with his article I looked up his educational resume' to see if he had studied these things. He hasn't, I think that is relevent.

Here is a great piece on emergent life...

I'm not sure probability or advanced calculus is required to understand the argument the author is making here. And ad hominem attacks aren't very helpful in debating ideas.

However, if someone is interested in this topic, and would like to consider a more thorough scholarly resource, Dr Hugh Ross (PhD in astrophysics from University of Toronto) has written a book called "Why the Universe is the Way it Is" which explores the reasons why the existence of life is so unlikely. There is plenty more on his website ( www.Reasons.org ) including this list of some of the fine-tuning required for life to exist anywhere in the universe:

I see your BSc (General Mathematics in Education) didn't require either Probability or advanced Calculus, and dates to 1973. Interesting.

..."If the Big Bang was merely a chance happening it is virtually impossible that all the values of all of these forces would have been exactly right to ensure the survival of the universe and to allow life"...

Earlier in this essay you mention probability, "I think we can show that it is highly probable that God exists", and since you are ok with using probabilistic concepts to support a theory, I have to point out that it is no more "virtually impossible" for life to exist by chance than it is via a creator. You are trying to use rational falicy to confuse people.

It is also very clear that you either don't understand physics and mathematics, or you are willfully misleading people. Is that what God wants you to do, or did you come up with this yourself?

Consider complexity theory, it might clear things up a bit.
