Trials Come in All Shapes and Sizes

faith_trialsWe all know someone who is getting a divorce, dying of some awful disease, having severe financial problems, or whose children have turned their lives upside down. We recognize these as trials. But check it out–trials come in all sizes and shapes.

  • 100% of human beings, married or single, experience hurt in their relationships.
  • 100% of parents experience some anxiety over their children.
  • 100% of children experience fears about real or imaginary enemies.
  • 100% of employees experience job-related tensions.
  • 100% of employers experience stress.

We all wait for plumbers and electricians and doctors. We all get our feelings hurt. We all feel sad, lonely and irritable. The car breaks down, the ants invade the kitchen, the keys are lost, the bills aren’t paid, the stamps, the scissors and the tape are not where they belong. The guests are early, the guests are late and the dinner burned. The kids are sick, the presentation is due and another phone solicitor called during dinner. Our bodies are not working the way they used to, hormones and blood pressure are out of whack and the medicine isn’t helping. The dress won’t fit, it is a very bad hair year and sometimes we hate our personalities.

When you feel bombarded by life’s difficulties, know you’re not alone! Not only are other women feeling the same way, but God knows exactly what’s happening—and He’s waiting to help. Whatever your trial, large or small, pause a moment and ask God for His power.
