I don't know if I can answer for Jim, Nolan, but I would say that the lucky part is being with your kids, investing in their lives and giving them a solid foundation from which to grow. I would also say that it is lucky to be a part of a husband and wife team that allows each partner to thrive in the areas they are best suited and support each other’s interests and skills.

Are there some dangers that you are concerned about for stay-at-home-dads and working-moms?

Well, first you're not really a stay at home dad are you? So that kind of makes this whole post misleading. At any rate, you feel that stay at home dads are "lucky." Do you also feel that stay at home moms are lucky? If so, why is they are portrayed as in need of "liberation."? Apparently your wife doesn't find it so lucky to stay at home because she prefers to be at work. I wonder what she is missing that she doesn't see how lucky it is to stay at home. Perhaps you could an article for her explaining why she should be a stay at home mom because it's so lucky.

Exactly what is so lucky about not having your own income and being dependent on someone else?
