God has called all His people to extend His word, compassion and love, to those who don’t know Him. Many long to bring His message and scripture to diverse communities around the world and yet are unsure of how to go about this.
What if there was a ministry that could quickly mobilize believers to share Jesus with people in all corners of this world? That required no formal education and only minimal training? That immediately touched the hearts of thousands by breaking down barriers of language, age and culture? That refused to water down truth while still sharing the message in a non-threatening and creative way?
DRIME was birthed out of the following intent:
- Use creative drama, dance and music to transcend language barriers and communicate Christ’s love and grace to people all over the world
- Train other outreach ministries and connect believers to the DRIME ministry tool through weekend workshops and day-long seminars
- Multiply itself by training leaders to create DRIME chapters and bases in multiple locations around the world
- Allow members to grow in evangelism skills, drama training, and leadership experience
In 1994, Tanya Price had a vision to use creative tools of evangelism to share the gospel with the lonely and searching of this world. She shared her dream with friends and fellow students in the cafeteria and dorms of Northwest Baptist College and before long this small group of 10 enthused students began an outreach ministry on the city streets of Vancouver. Today DRIME [Disciples Ready in Mobile Evangelism] continues as a vital, full-time street drama and equipping ministry which uses the tool of choreographed drama set to music to share the Gospel with those on the city streets across North America and other countries overseas.
Through the years, God has graciously allowed us to take teams internationally to countries like Brazil, Kenya, Russia, Greece, Mexico, Paraguay, Benin, Sudan, and Argentina. In 2003, DRIME launched its first international extension ministry in Gramado, Brazil in partnership with Janz Team Ministries; in 2006, DRIME Kenya was launched in partnership with Transformation Ministries Africa. In 2010: DRIME Benin was launched in July in partnership with the Global Aid Network and DRIME Paraguay was launched in December in partnership with Transformando Juntos Paraguay (TJP). Currently DRIME Thailand is being formed in partnership with Campus Crusade for Christ Thailand and will be launched in December 2011.
In July of 2007, DRIME joined the ministry of Power to Change (formerly Campus Crusade for Christ Canada), and is working in collaboration with many of the PTC ministries, to reach the people on the city streets for the Kingdom!
