You will be trying to make sense of life until the day you die.” In the first part of his discussion of the craving for meaning, Erwin McManus talks about the tragedy of making meaningful things meaningless and the search to find something, someone you can trust.
“The dark side of meaning is a life filled with doubt, a life filled with fear, and a life that’s filled with anger and cynicism and despair.” When you’re sharing this video with friends, ask them about the things they doubt in this life. We’ve all been afraid, we’ve all be angry. Talk about what it means to have certainty in an uncertain world.
