We do the one gift a time thing. I got tired of missing the opening of the presents that my daughter's father and I worked so hard to give to them. I,also, have a clear, plastic Christmas that each limb is a slight spike. (I saw that these can still be bought.) This tree is set up each Christmas eve with a small gumdrop on each spike. I always make sure each spike had candy and it was so much fun the watch my girls check the tree for missing gum drops. And, sure enough, Santa always took some for his trip and his reindeers. Christmas always brings the child out of me!!!!!

LOVE the open one present at a time thing. My family has done that since the beginning of time.. we usually start opening presents at 7 or 8 and finish around 10.. it is the best few hours of the year
