Mike Woodard
Mike is the husband of one, father of 4 and soon to be the grandfather of 2. He and his wife Karen live in Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada. Backpacking is his favorite past time. Science and theology is his education background, a biology degree from Central Michigan University and a master’s degree in Christian Studies from Trinity Western Seminary. Mike thank you for today’s devotional. I needed to hear that someone including myself might need a kind word of encouragement, because you see I was ready to tell my son off. I am hurt and upset at once again his lies, manipulation, and failure to keep on the right track. He just in the last three months returned home from prison. He is 32 years old and has spent the last 15 years of our life in and out of prison. I just learned last night that he is using meth. I never expected he would be a drug user, he always exercised and appeared to try and be healthy. He appeared to enjoy going to church with us and even attended a 5-week course at church that he didn’t have to attend. I am discouraged and have to be at work today. I pray my Savior would give me the strength to carry on. I am also concerned because he never came home last night and has our ranch truck which only has liability insurance on it. He lied and said he was going to see about a job and would be home early. His agent stopped by yesterday evening also, so now she is looking for him. I am so tired of living this life with him. However, I will not say something I will regret to him, instead I will speak to him of hope and love. Thank you.
