I always want to eat

Written by Muriel Larson

wanttoeatI am having difficulty finding the roots of my desire to eat so much. I enjoy food and look forward to eating. During the four years since I have been married, I have gained about 50 pounds. I have tried many diets (I only last a few days on them now) and exercise when I can. I am at the point where feel like giving up on looking good again. Can you direct me to any resources that may help me understand the psychology behind this problem.

Advice: Please don’t give up – your health depends on you. You say you have tried various diets, but they only last a few days. The secret to gaining control over your problem lies in your completely and permanently changing your diet and daily exercise (even if it is only a brisk walk).

Kick the fast food and sweet stuff, and start eating vegetables, fruits, fish, and whole grain foods like whole wheat bread and oatmeal for breakfast. After a while you will get to enjoy that kind of food. Walking each day is very uplifting to the spirit, even as it helps with the figure.

These books might help you: 3D: Diet, Discpline and Discipleship by Carol Showalter; Spiritual Secrets to Weight Loss by Kara Davis; Twelve Reasons Why People Overeat by Joyce Meyer.

In Christ’s love, Dr. Muriel
