I am a recovering alcoholic and mother of two. Can you point me to some Christian recovery material?
Advice: The one I use with people is Twelve Steps Spiritual Journey. It can be found in Christian book stores for about $15. I also like recovering substance abusers to start working in Changes That Heal by Henry Cloud. After that you can do my Bible study, Being a Woman of God, published by Thomas Nelson Publishers.
When you are in the Christian bookstore, you can look at the recovery section. Most of the books on adult children of alcoholics will apply to you and help you gain more of the understanding you need to keep your sobriety. Our church has a weekly group for people in recovery. Make sure that you have a sponsor to help you get through the rough time. The more social support groups you are in the more help you will have. Soon you will know which groups are helping you the most and can focus on them. I hope this helps. I know it is hard and we will be praying for you.
