this is to mary’s question. You can invite your husband to join in on your time with the Lord. Couple devotions are amazing to God! If you want it to be just the Lord and you at times, you can go to a separate room and just let your husband know you want time to spend with God for however long you wish. It’ll work out, God will make sure.

I work as an Intern at my local church. Our Staff is encouraged to take one day off called a DAWG day (Day Away With God)…not a sick day or vacation day, just a day set aside for each employee. This is a great template for a way to get your day started and see it through. I’m so grateful to be a part of a church team that sees this as a value…no a neccesity! Thanks for this submission!

Its been splendid! i thank the Lord i didn’t make the error of choosing another article this morning. I’ve actually been thinking of taking time off to be alone with the Lord, i’ve actually been inspired by your guidelines and i so much long for this time which i plan to take at the end of this month to move away from family and friends for three days with the Lord alone.
You’ve truely blessed my heart, may the Lord shower upon you a double portion in Jesus name

I would love to do this but I don’t have a clue as to how it can be done. I’m a senior with a husband who is retired so that I am never really alone. Does anyone have any ideas as to how I can at least try this.

Perfect timing …I am self-employed. At times the responsibility is too much! Was thinking I needed a day by myself at my most favorite place, a beach! God spoke clearly via you …”spend a day with Me”.

Thank you so much for publishing this article. I have devoted a day to the Lord and have found it to be very helpful, especially when I was struggling with a decision. The next few weeks will be very busy, and I cannot think of a better way to prepare for them than to spend time gaining spiritual insight and strength.
