Praying to God
If you are at a loss for words these prayers may help you. Remember, prayer is simply talking to God. God wants to be our friend and he wants us to feel comfortable talking to him.
- When you are unsure of where you will spend eternity:
Lord Jesus, I want to know you personally. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins. I open the door of my life and receive You as my Savior and Lord. Thank You for forgiving me of my sins and giving me eternal life. Take control of the throne of my life. Make me the kind of person You want me to be. Amen
- When you are fearful:
Father God, I am feeling fearful today. Life seems to be uncertain and out of control. I recall that the Bible tells me “Perfect love casts out fear”. You alone are Perfect Love, so would you please cast out the fear I feel and replace it with confidence in your sufficiency. Psalm 121 tells me that you never slumber or sleep, so I will trust you to take care of me – moment by moment, day by day. In Jesus name. Amen - Morning prayer:
Dear Lord, I give you may hands to do Your work; I give You my feet to go Your way; I give You my eyes to see as You see; I give You my tongue to speak Your words; I give You my mind that You may think in me; I give You my spirit that You may pray in me. Above all, I give You my heart that You may love in me – love the Father and love all humankind. I give You my whole self, Lord, that You may grow in me, so that it is You who lives, works and prays in me. Amen.
- Commitment prayer:
Father, into your hands I commit my spirit. For it is your business, not mine. You will know every shade of my suffering; You will care for me with your perfect fatherhood. (prayed by George Mac Donald)

- When you need wisdom and direction:
Father God, there are so many decisions to make and I don’t seem to know what is the best for now or for the future. You said if we lack wisdom, all we need to do ask you. I really need you to pour wisdom into my mind today. Thank you!
- For success:
And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, “Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain.” So God granted him what he requested. (I Chronicles 4:10 NKJV)
- When you are weak or ill
Father, I am feeling lousy today. I ache all over and feel very weak. You said that your grace was sufficient for me. Please strengthen me. Give me joy inspite of how I feel physically. Amen
- For the young women of the world:
Father God, thank you for all the young women in the world. Give them dreams that are bigger than themselves–so they will have to trust you to make their dream come true. Give them a will and heart to be all you created them to be. Help them to work hard and be successful.Enable them to be generous to those who are less fortunate. Give them hearts full of love and compassion.Give them the strength to say “no” to activities that they would later be remorseful about–that they would do what is right for them and for the world around them. Help them to be kind to others.
Protect them from people who would harm them physically, emotionally and mentally.
Let them know that allowing You to direct their way is the smartest thing they can do. In Jesus wonderful and powerful name. Amen

Lord, I am so glad that you know each of our children and grandchildren by name. I forget sometimes. Thank you for sending a whole hedge of angels around each child. Thank you for protecting them all today. Father, would you please turn their minds and hearts toward You and pleasing you. Thank you!
- When you are down-sizing (moving):
Lord, I really don’t what to move. I like it here – there are so many memories. I am comfortable here because it is familiar. I know it is too large for me (us) now – to much work, but I have such mixed feelings. I don’t like the thought of all the changes.I am so glad you never change. You are and always will be a constant in my life. Help me to remember that when I am packing and unpacking. Amen.

Dear God, The little plans I tried to carry through have failed I will not sorrow. I’ll pause a little while, Dear God, And try, again, tomorrow.

Dear God, when your son Jesus died and rose from the dead, He broke down walls of hostility. Father, you know that conflict I am having right now. I don’t know how to resolve it. You are our Savior. Please save and restore this relationship. Amen

Watch, O Lord, with those who wake, or watch, or weep tonight, and give Your angels charge over those who sleep. Tend Your sick ones, O Lord Christ. Rest Your weary ones. Bless Your dying ones. I put on the helmet of salvation, which protects my mind from the enemy’s attacks. I have the mind of Christ. I put on the breastplate of righteousness, which covers my body with the righteousness of God. In Christ, every foothold of evil has been washed away and I am clothed in righteousness! I gird my loins with the belt of truth. Your word, O God, is truth. Father, sanctify me according to your word and remind me through the Holy Spirit of the truth that destroys the lies of sin. I shod my feet with the preparation of the Gospel of peace. I have peace with God through the blood of Jesus. I have favor with God and with man. I walk in my inheritance as an adopted son of God and have authority over evil in Jesus’ name. Hi Susan, this must be a terrible time for you. Do you have people around you who you can talk to about what is happening to you? I know that for me when I need help I find people at my church who are a good support group for me. Is there a church that is near you or that you are connected with?
Let me pray for you: Heavenly Father I pray for Susan. You know what is all happening right now and You can help her know how to deal with it all. I pray that You would give Susan wisdom to know what to do and how to confront her husband about his affairs. I pray that she would have people be a support for her and the children. Please pray for me for I am going through a bad marriage. I stay in jwaneng Botswana. I am doing my studies in Zimbabwe through my husband’s help. Now I am discovering that he is, having affairs with different ladies around Botswana. Starting from where we used to stay he is communicating with the lady he always calls by a man’s name. Now we are in jwaneng he has another woman whom he is seeing during time I am not with him or when I am not in town. I want my husband to focus on us and my kids and not other people who alre not family. He does not want me to touch his phone neither would he touch mine just because he does not want me to touch his. I feel like I am making his life miserable by asking him about phone calls. What did that person called you and he would lie in my face that it was a wrong number. He is actually bringing these women in my house and they would sleep together in my bed or on my kids’s beds. I can’t focus if I imagine my husband with another woman. Last time I phoned him then I heard a woman’s voice on the background, and he was furious why I asked him about who was speaking. He actually defend himself always. How can I catch him. I am prying so that he can stop but I failing to do this on my own. I need help my marriage is breaking down. He even told me that he is tired of me and he is fed up aboout me asking him about his cell phone. Please help maybe I am the one who is wrong. Tell me what to do I am stranded and I am losing my mind over this.
Dear Daniel, first I want to congratulate you with being in collage and wholeheartedly desiring to remain focused on the Lord and His Word! You are in a completely new season of life that requires more time, attention, and dedication to achieving the collage degree you are aiming for at this time. A few suggested ways you can remain focused on the Lord and His word during this season is by starting each day off in prayer, reading scripture verses pertaining to whatever issues you are dealing with, and journaling in a notebook. If you are living on campus, you might want to find out if there are any Bible study/prayer groups for you to join. Remaining connected to and being around other believers is a wonderful way to continue to grow in your faith and walk with the Lord. Whenever you are tempted to loose control of your words or temper quickly ask God’s Holy Spirit (who dwells inside of you) to help you remain calm and handle the situation in a proper manner that is pleasing to God. One remaining suggestion is to listen to praise and worship music. It is amazing how music can calm our souls while we lift our hearts to the Lord who knows all that we are juggling at any given time!
At this time, I would like to pray for you:
Father God, I pray that you would keep Daniel’s mind and heart in perfect peace while going through these collage years. Keep his mind guarded and protected from the enemy as he seeks to remain focused on You while juggling extra responsibilities. May your Spirit blanket his emotions during times that are challenging. Press into Him, soak yourself in reading your Bible, doing Bible study, praying, singing praises and just crying out to Jesus. Never let the devil tell you there is no hope. Think about Joseph and what he went through… trapped in a well, sold into slavery, wrongly accused, put in jail, forgotten, shamed, alone… and the WHOLE time God was at work. God never overlooked a single detail or belittled any of Joseph’s suffering. God had a breakthrough coming, because that is the kind of God we worship. I pray now for your faith to increase! Praise God halelujah and I pray that the Holy Spirit that is in Him for he accepeted Jesus Christ as his Savior and Lord bear fruits in Jesus name. Praise God halelujah. Father God according to what I have read, I have to pray, picturize and actualize what I want for my husband in Jesus name. Of course I believe that I can pray, picturise and actualize but Father God you have the final say for my husband and I am very confident that you are able to change my husband fr easily angered man to a very understanding man in Jesus name. Praise God halelujah. Father God I know that nothing is impossible for you oh Lord. Praise God halelujah that sooner that I could imagine my husband is a changed man in Jesus name. Praise God halleujah. He is now a new creation in Jesus name. I claimed, received that right now I have a changed husband in Jesus name. I pray also that he is healed of the Lord in Jesus name. That his urinary bladder is new, yes it is new urinary bladder that no more pain in urination in jesus name. Praise God halelujah. I thank God all mighty for the great things he has done for me and the lessons i have learned in life and yet to come. He is an on time GOD oh yes he is. Whom shall i fear? God all mighty i love you lord your beyond the best and i THANK-YOU for saving me, my life and for you, forgiving me and yet giving me another chance yet again. I ask that you continue your love for me and keep your Angels watching over me. Forgive me Father for i have sinned. Please pray with me! I love de Lord and serving Him is my desire! I know cos nobody to tell I hold myself but I am scattered within. I know I am not given the Spirit of fear but I am fearly. I am single mother having no job, deep in debt paying rent having no other place to go if my landlord decide otherwise! De most painful part I try to do a living whatever I touch went wrong in my hand. My life is a mess. By sleeping evry day not knowing where to go I feel I am failing my baby by not being able to provide!
