Charles:If your still checking out this web site? And to ALL the Charles out there. Victory awaits you to put behind you the sin you so much desire to stop doing. I’ve found out what worked for me. YOUR spirit has to be humbled to the Holy Spirit living in you. It may sound easy and it is and it’s not so to speak. Let me explain my sinfulness to you and how God removed it. It took years of guilt feelings about the same sins Charles says he is fighting in my life until I came to the knowledge that deep within my heart I did not want the sins to stop. Oh yea, in my mind I felt guilt from the Holt Spirit about my sins and because of the guilt I wanted it all to stop,heavens sake I know I am a christian. But something changed one day after years of praying about it I started to cry(Yea a adult man crying)MY spirit was broken. For the first time deep I my HEART I wanted true change. I prayed that the Holy Spirit would take the DESIRE from my heart to want porn,drugs,foul language etc. And after about three to six months of crying and pleading to the Holy Spirit to take the DESIRE from my heart HE finally did. Now don’t take me wrong here. Once in awhile a bad word will slip out but I never do drugs anymore and porn is almost non existent.
You need to know I did these things day in and day out 24/7 until this happened and I know the holy spirit did it. He is working in me always to refine me even now. I’s an ongoing process. You or I will never reach perfection in every aspect of our sinful lives while here on earth. Sanctification is a process over time. If your in the word (reading the Bible daily)And praying daily just come to a point where your heart is broken for the things of God and you will see some if not all victory in some sins in your life. We have the fullness of God in us through the Holy Spirit to defeat all sin but due to the strong hold of our old sinful nature and the Devil it is next to impossible to rid yourself of all your sinfulness. God is more interested in where your heart is. Not to say that you just quit worrying about your sinfulness. That would be a big mistake. Press on and don’t focus on perfection just progression in your Christian walk. Remember if you Really want change submit your humble heart to the Lord. Gods best to you all.

I have to agree Georgiana! The reminders on this page really are great. In fact I was just reminding a bunch of friends of the importance of remembering that the Holy Spirit is our power source and that as believers we really need to remember to walk in the power of the Holy Spirit in order to be effective in ministry. The only way we can stand firm when temptation comes is to walking in the Spirit!

Love this page has great reminders. We have to stay connected to Jesus daily so we can stand firm when temptations comes, walking in spirit is the best thing ever. Prayer and mediation on the word brings healing and gets rid of bondage. Thanks for sharing !

I am Andrew and I am one of the mentors for Truth Media. The addiction of Alcohol and Porn is often impossible to overcome and if you are in ministry then this is where the devil wishes for you to be. As this habits hamper you to being effective. The addiction can be overcome as I am sure that you confess your sin to Christ however the circle often repeats itself for various reasons. One is if you don’t have anyone you are held accountable to that you meet with on a weekly basis you will never overcome the addiction. It could be as simple as asking for help from a mentor on this site then looking to others. The more people you share with this in confidence the more strength the Holy Spirit will give you from doing this.

Often people say I am addicted to porn or booze and they don’t know why they are. To discover the reason why you are masking the hurt with porn and alcohol and ask Christ to heal that area will bring freedom often their is a deep pain inside of us that is never been resolved when this is resolved the healing will take place. It is a daily thing that needs to occur. If the devil can hamper your ministry then he has done his job. Don’t be ashamed to discuss this as all humans are not with fault just do so in confidence with a Godly man.

Thank God for directing my steps to this website…. I’m greatly inspired. I’m a student pastor, but sometimes, I do find myself in the habit of Alcholic and pornography. Please, can someone help me on how to stop this completely. I’ve actualy done alot to see if I can stop this act cos I know it’s very wrong for me to go ahead doing that same thing I preach against. This has actualy lasted for more than 8 years now… I’ve fasted and prayed; destroyed alot of things jus to see if I can stop this act. But still…….

I feel that you are on the right track: First we need to realize where we are. Then follows a plea to God for help. I can empathize, in that I was also tempted by lust in many (evil) ways. Sex is a normal human desire, while lust is an expression of that in a selfish and evil manner. You are doing what is needful in surrendering yourself to the lord! The Holy Spirit will guide you as you think of that woman as a human soul, who is also seeking to be in God’s plan. She then becomes far more than a sex-object, but a person with feelings, fears, hopes and dreams. She is a person who needs to find fulfillment and acceptance in all the areas of her life.
What helped me a great deal was daily Bible readings in the morning, with a prayer that God direct me to do what is in His will for that day. This even brought me to the point of asking God for a passion that would give my life purpose. HE answered, and sex is there, but no longer in the forefront.
Let’s pray: Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for calling Jessey to a greater purpose. May his life be one that lines up with Your will for him. Help him, if this is necessary, to find someone that is able to drive out the demons of lust, so that sex will be put into its proper place. Fill his life, I pray, with thoughts that are wholesome, uplifting, and positive. Show him in what ways you want him to serve you. May Jessey be at peace with himself, knowing that You are at work in him, helping him to grow Spiritually. Thanking You, we pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.
I strongly suggest that you ask for a mentor (in this Power-to-Change website), for a person to walk beside you, pray with you, and be an ongoing inspiration.

i’m often tempted by lust but i’ve wanted a freedom from temptation and my sinful thoughts i surrender myself to the lord and i want his spirit there’s no one to guide me,pls pray for me,i feel someone is following and tempting me pls do pray for me.
