Brian Welch – For A Better LifeVideo provided by: I Am Second

Brian “Head” Welch’s life was spinning out of control. As lead guitarist for the band Korn, people worshipped his music. He made all the money, had all the cars, houses and women he could handle, but still found himself with a crippling addiction to Meth. “I couldn’t stay sober. I didn’t know how. I hit rock bottom.” Brian wanted to quit, but what if quitting required complete surrender?

devo-interact-icon-42x42What about you? Is your life spinning out of control? We can help you get control back.

What would your life look like if you could start over with a clean slate?

Are you ready to choose a different path?

Jesus came, and died, and rose again to wipe the slate clean. He was scourged, tormented, and finally nailed on the cross for humankind’s sins – this was all part of God’s plan to bring you and I back into relationship with him. God wants to be a part of your life … in fact, not just a part of your life, but wants you to live in full fellowship with Him. Is this the life for you?

God loves you and created you to know Him personally. He longs for you to have the kind of full life you were always meant to have. So why do people not experience this kind of life? People are lost and separated from God, so we cannot know Him personally or experience His love. Because of our sins, we justly deserve judgement. But God provided his Son, Jesus Christ, as the only provision for our sin. He died in our place, then he rose from the dead.

We must individually trust Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord; then we can know God personally, receive forgiveness for our sins, and experience His love: “As many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God” (John 1:12)

We trust God through faith. You can trust Christ right now by faith through prayer! (Prayer is just talking with God.) God knows your heart and is not so concerned with your words as He is with the attitude of your heart. The following is a suggested prayer:

Lord Jesus, I need you. Thank You for dying on the cross for my sins. I open the door of my life and receive You as my Savior and Lord. Thank You for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life. Take control of the throne of my life. Make me the kind of person You want me to be.

Does this prayer express the desire of your heart?

If it does, pray this prayer right now, and Christ will come into your life, just as He promised.

It is a pretty powerful testimony isn’t it John? So neat how God uses our stories to touch others and to remind us of where we have come from! Keep telling others yours and He will shine His light thru you to them. Thanks for stopping by and sharing with us.

Man, this is the first time I have saw your testimony and It blew me away ! It took me back to where I use to be when I was a slave to meth and alcohol. I remember crying out to God asking Him to take away my addiction as I was on my way to my dope dealers house. I would ask Him, “please God don’t let it be that I have to go back to prison for this insanity to stop !” I thought my prayers were falling onto deaf ears and began to think the end would be the only way for me to be free. I planned my suicide more times than I can remember. I would lay in my dark room in a deep depression and when I would leave it was to get more dope. My daughter would try to get me to be the dad she wanted me to be. But, the only thing I paid attention to was getting high and having sex with various women. As time passed by and the suffering got worse I would continue to cry out to God. I didn’t realize is God was there all along reaching down to me with his loving hand. All I had to do was my part and reach out to Him.I started doing the church thing thing and reading the my bible. By doing so, I stepped into the light and back into the salvation that seemed forever lost. God pulled me from the pits of hell just like he did you and now my life is filled with the indescribable love of Jesus ! I now glow with God’s glory and am reaching out to other people with addictions like you are doing. Seeing people come recieve salvation and experiencing the love of God is the ultimate high ! When they say God is the Most High they aren’t kidding !!!

I want to Thank You for sharing the testimony God gave you to use to reach the lost ! Thank You for taking me back to where I use to be so I could have a fresh look at what the Love of Christ has done for me ! You are truly a blessing to God and for others my brother !

God Bless You From Tulsa, Oklahoma !

Sandra, thank you for taking the time to share your story with us. God uses the broken pieces of our lives to show us more about Himself and it seems that this is what He did with this video in your life. If God can redeem Brian Welch and totally change his life, then He can also rescue both your sons from the clutches of the enemy.

What freedom for you to finally realize that you had harbored this unforgiveness in your heart, and by letting that go, God can do an even greater work in and through you. I will be praying for your sons as well, that they too would come to see light and realize that they need to ‘come home’ as it were.

I just have to say thank you for posting this video. I found that as I listened to this man speak from a group I HATED because I lost my son to this band; he was so fansinated by them, his school mates listened to this junk and it infilterated our sons mind and heart. Our precious son became rebellious stopped living for God and was trapped firmly in the grip of this kind of music and this group was the main one our son used to tear our insides out with. One day I was walking around the yard and found on the other side of the garage in spray paint this group name on the foundation along with a large hole where our son knocked in it. All his time was spent trying to find ways to sneak and listen to music like this knowing God was not pleased neither were we. His friends went out of the way to make sure he got the music to listen to, even to the point they made sure he had the cd player to listen to it where he would sneak off to listen to it. He was out of control he was lost to us, we tried everything to try to pull him back in to the safety of living for God but even pulling him out of school and home schooling him, he didn’t want any part of it. Our son eventually moved out at 16 because he was not allowed to do what he wanted. Our son is still lost to living for God, that precious prayer he prayed when he was 8 to be saved and those 5 years that followed where he looked up to the sky every time we got home from service or throughout the week, he would say “Is it today he will come back for us?” I would smile so big what a feeling knowing our son was looking for Jesus to return. We lost him to the work of this kind of music and those words they sing planted seeds of hate and rebellion. Our son is now 25 still away from the Lord and still listening to the music that fills his soul with the world and all it’s emptiness.

When I listened to this video the Lord touched my heart and I realized that I had not forgiven this group of people in this band that I hated for taking my son away from us through their music. I forgive them and I also repented for carrying this hate in my heart against them; those made in His image who are lost and don’t even realise it. So Brian, thank you for making this testimony video which lead me to let go and forgive. It is our hope that not only this son but both of our sons will come back to the Lord and stay awya from this kind of music that posins their hearts and minds. Mentor#4

Thanks for visiting our site Rebecca and taking the time to post a comment. It is such an encouragement to hear testimonies of God’s amazing work in the lives of one and another because they encourage us to believe God’s promises in every situation.

  • Rebecca says:

Brian, your testimony has truly lifted my spirit! Praise God for your letting Him fill your precious soul. Being a Christian will not be easy, but in Revelations 2:10 Jesus said to remain faithful to Him even when you are facing death and he will give you the crown of life!

  • Brenda says:

I am so grateful that God gave His One and Only Son for me, and that Jesus was willing to die for me, a sinner, that I might be transferred into His Kingdom of Light! Praise be to Him forever and ever!

I absolutely love this testimony by Brian Welch! It is so beautiful to hear the mercy and grace of Jesus for us all, and to see another child added to God’s Kingdom, and to know I have another brother in my famiily! Welcome, Brian! God bless you for choosing Jesus!
