The Bible is an ancient historical text that has been around for centuries. It is read and distributed by churches, carried in missionaries’ backpacks all over the world, taught in schools, stowed in hotel drawers, or kept on bedside tables. In this modern society, whether or not you’ve read the Bible yourself, chances are you have come in contact with it at one point or another. Some consider the Bible yet just another piece of history, while others herald it as the living word of God. Be it historical or divine — perhaps both — there is something to be said about the wisdom of the Bible that echo through life today. Despite being a really old piece of text, the Bible is organic and relevant – it has the power to make all things new.

Video: The Reason I Believe
Is the Bible historical, divine, or both? Is the Bible reliable?
Do you crave truth and meaning?
Thanks, Lily. I love the way you emphasize the importance of the Holy Spirit in helping us to understand what God is saying to us in the Bible. What a comfort to know that Jesus promised that the Holy Spirit will, “teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.” (John 14:26)
Now some of the other things you have said I would need some clarification on to understand what you mean by them but I can wholeheartedly agree with my need for the Holy Spirit’s intervention in my understanding of the Bible.
Good day
What I understand about the bible is that the old testament has scriptures and the new testament has epistles and gospel according to 5 synoptics and all the Apostles with their own Ideas e.g Paul in 1 corinthians 7:12-16 and 2 corinthians 6:14-18,And Jesus Himself said many words that we today understant, unlike the one like this one where by those who never read both epistles will become confused like I did for 23 years, so my point is that in the bible we find life but we need to read it from the beginning of each chapter by asking the Holy spirit intervention while’s reading so that we might not understand it by canal mind as Roman 12:1-2 said. Feel free to correct me.
