I liked the message of this video very much. We can make a choice to take God’s grace in our lives and use it as a license to sin, but if we do so, we are only damaging ourselves and cheating ourselves out of the abundant life Jesus came to give us. Tommy boy, even after he chose to do things his way, did not look any less angry, tense, and miserable than he did before. This reminds me of Proverbs 14:12:

There is a way which seems right to a man and appears straight before him, but at the end of it is the way of death [Amplified Bible]

Although I did enjoy the message of the video, I have to say that I do not know if I would have found it so clear had I not had Jamie’s help in explaining it already posted! I know nothing about editing, and, though intriguing, this video is also somewhat difficult.

A film is like a joke: if you have to explain it you didn’t tell it right. I had to watch this a couple of times to get the idea of what they were trying to say. I think part of the awkwardness is the angry, cigartette smoking angels. Are they the good guys?

But after a few times I got the message that the angels were upset with ‘Tommy-boy’ because he was living life for himself. They were trying to challenge him to live beyond himself and serve other people. But ‘Tommy-boy’ instead edited their message so that all he heard was “You are everything” thus giving freedom to continue to live for himself.

Makes you stop and think how I change the good messages that come into my life so that they suit me better. Hmmmmm…
