Since the dawn of the GPS, many people have relied on their handheld devices in order to get from Point A to Point B. With a push of a button, and a clear blue line leading you to your destination instantly appears. However, whenever traffic gets tough, and a shortcut presents itself, we are immediately tempted to take a different path — only to find out that the road we have chosen to take leads to a dead end. The roads we travel on are not just the highways that we drive through daily to get to and from work or school. Our paths are often long and crooked and it branches out to many different directions. However, the one thing we know for sure is that we never, ever, journey through it alone.
Proverbs 3:6 says, in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. We know that Christ is always with us; but, human as we are, sometimes we fall away. What is your reaction when you have strayed from the path? Would you get caught up by inward shame? Or would you, like the prodigal son, look towards the light?
Many of those around us are stuck in the lie of shame. Journey with them and share the Gospel!
