How will birth control pills affect my relationship?

I have a wonderful husband that I love very much, but I am wondering about the birth control pills–will they make our love stronger because we wouldn’t have to worry about me getting pregnant? I love having sex with him, but I am not ready for a baby and I am scared of gaining weight and the side effects of birth control. What can I do to release all of this love I want to really express to him without having to worry about it?

Advice: Birth control pills have come a long way. Tell your doctor your fears about gaining weight and maybe the two of you can work out the right pill for you. The advantage of living nowadays is we have these pills available to us. A century ago, our grandmothers got pregnant every two years, even while they were careful about when and where they could have sex. The idea of enjoying the act was almost unknown to them. Use the pill and enjoy your husband, in the memory of your grandmothers who couldn’t.
