Cooling Down—in Life and Work

Written by Lee Liang-Da

In the unbearable heat of summer, you need a good way of relax emotionally.  A method that will work anywhere and anytime in your life and work, and is simply SLOW DOWN. Do everything slower than your usual pace.  In other words, “COOL DOWN” your life and work!

Be more relaxed even when the “the heat is on” by taking the simple steps to COOL DOWN.  As a result, you will find yourself more patient than before.  Living and working under such heat wears out our bodies and strength.  When you start to slow down, you will be able to handle everything much better.  This is really a great way to improve your patience!  Start slowing down by getting out of bed in the morning slower. Give yourself time to gradually wake up, don’t stress yourself out and get all jumpy.

Try a few of these ideas:

In the Morning

  • Get out of bed a little slower
  • Put on your clothes a little slower

In the Bathroom

  • Brush your teeth and wash your face a little slower
  • Use the bathroom a little slower

Making Breakfast

  • Eat your breakfast a little slower
  • Drink a little slower

Leaving for Work

  • Put on your shoes a little slower
  • Close the door a little slower
  • Walk a little slower
Drive your car a little slower

At Work

  • Sit down in your office and turn on the computer a little slower
Type on the computer a little slower
  • Send your email to clients a little slower
  • Speak a little slower
  • Take your lunch break and eat a little slower
  • Surf the internet a little slower

At Home

  • Go home after work and take a hot bath a little slower
Call someone on the phone for communication and comradely and talk a little slower
  • Buy your groceries a little slower
  • Go to the park for a walk and exercise a little slower
  • Help your child with studying and do it a little slower
  • Rarely go to the mall with your wife, so shop a little slower
  • A little slower, A little slower, A little slower

That’s right—that’s the secret: when you go “a little slower”, everything becomes less stressful.  I recommend that everyone give it a try—I guarantee your day will become much more relaxed!
