I am nervous to go back to work
I am a 35 year old woman who has not worked for 5 years. The thought of interviewing again–for the broadcast field–at my age, is down right frightening!
Advice: Is your work in broadcasting is on TV? You can’t help but think of Barbara Walters. Somehow she has managed to stay in there. Surely there must be some image makers in your field.
Learn how to promote yourself. Do what you need to do. Get back into shape physically. There is a quote from a kid on the Internet, “If you want to be loved by somebody who isn’t already in your family, it doesn’t hurt to be beautiful.” (age 8) We’ve all seen make-overs. Anybody can be beautiful. Join a woman’s support group and let them know you and love you. That will give you confidence. The older we get the wiser we get. In some places, that counts for something. Look for those places.
