Take a Dip
Whether you are entertaining guests or feeding a hungry family, these dips can be a welcome addition to any menu. Try them with your favourite chips, crackers or fresh-cut vegetables.
Shrimp dip

Ingredients:
½ cup mayo
3/4 cup ketchup
½ c. sour cream
1 teaspoon chives
1 teaspoon parsley
Dash of lemon juice
Dash Tabasco sauce
Grated celery
1 tin of small shrimp
Directions:
Mix together and chill in fridge until ready to serve. Great with chips, vegetables and crackers.
Crab dip

Ingredients:
2-3 tins crab (or use imitation crab)
1 – 8 ounce package cream cheese, softened
1 cup mayonnaise*
½ cup sliced almonds
Directions:
Mix together the ingredients together, and top with about 1 cup of grated cheddar cheese. Bake until the mixture melts and is all gooey (microwave about 2 minutes in a 500 degree oven). Use with taco chips or toasted pieces of pita bread. * Miracle Whip gives a nice tangy taste.
Guacomole

Ingredients:
3 ripe avocados
1 teaspoon chopped onion
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons salsa
Directions:
Peel and mash the pulp of the avocados. Add the onion, chili powder, salt and salsa. Mix well and serve with your favourite Mexican dishes or chips.
Surprise dip

Ingredients:
8 ounces cream cheese
½ cup sour cream
1/4 cup mayonnaise
12 ounces shrimp, cooked, rinsed & drained (optional)
Directions:
Mix together and layer in dish. Add a layer of seafood sauce and then add:
2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
Sprinkle 1 green pepper, diced
3 chopped green onions
2-3 diced tomatoes
Directions:
Add tomatoes just before serving. Serve with vegetables, crackers or taco chips.
Taco dip

Ingredients:
1st Layer:
1 can refried beans
2 teaspoons mayonnaise
2nd Layer:
3 avocados, mashed
½ cup mayonnaise
2 teaspoons Lemon juice
3rd Layer:
1 cup sour cream
1 package Taco seasoning
Topping:
3 tomatoes, chopped
½ cup black olives, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
Directions:
Combine beans and mayonnaise and spread on the bottom of a 9 x 11-inch pan, quiche dish or other platter. Combine avocados, mayonnaise and lemon juice and spread over bean mixture. Mix taco seasoning with sour cream and spread over 2nd layer. Spread toppings over top. Serve with taco chips or crackers. Dig In!!
