I am trying to help a co-worker with anger

coworkerisangryI am trying to help a young lady learn how to control her anger at work. She is a very hard worker and a high achiever. Most of her anger is directed toward fellow employees who do not perform well or spend too much time talking. I have talked to her about being more assertive but she seems to reject the idea because it may cause a problem in the office.

Advice: She needs to learn as the whether she is angry or irritated. Irritation goes from 1-5. Anger goes from 6-10. She is most likely not angry at the people at work, but at some other situation in her life that she has no control over. Unless she is the boss or major stock holder or she gets assigned the work of these “slackers” any anger toward them is probably a projection. Ask her if it is really all about the job or if something else is going on that she would like to talk about.
