  • Jacques says:

I crave for a place where people would not destroy themselves and each other

  • Cat says:

A place in my life where trusting others isn’t an issue and the past is truly in my past.

It sounds like you have been let down by people Cat. Where have you looked to find a place like that? What kind of people do you think would need to make a place like that? What would their priorities be? What would be there source of confidence that would allow them to accept others?

  • Cat says:

I definitely have been let down. By my exhusband, past relationships before him. Now I’m looking in a place I am calling home…but I’ll tell you that as much as I love home, it’s hard to trust and I’m afraid I’m going to ruin that place. I need honest and loving people to make the home…and they say they are loving and honest, but how do I learn to trust that they are? Their priority would be GOD…and the rest will follow. And how do I teach my children to trust when I don’t. Lead by example is my motto, but I’m not doing the greatest job right now…

  • Jamie says:

The place to start building trust is by finding a relationship that is solid that you can depend on. From there you can begin to extend trust into other relationships because you have the security of that foundational relationship. I have found that Jesus Christ is that foundational relationship. Jesus love for me is never in question. His promise is “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” (as quoted in the Bible Hebrews 13:5) His love for us goes to extraordinary lengths where He was willing to sacrifice His own comfort, His own position, and His own life for us; “I live my life in this earthly body by trusting in [Jesus Christ] the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” (found in another part of the Bible Galatians 2:20) His love for me is not based on what I do or do not do because He loved me while I was still living a life that rebelled against Him as God; “God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.” (Romans 5:8)

God loves you Cat and His love is something that you can always trust. I have gone through loss of loved ones, loss of employment, betrayal by those I thought I could trust. Through it all I have been able to endure because God was with me and helped comfort me, lead me, and strengthen me through it all. I know He can do the same for you as well. And when you have the confidence that comes from a solid, consistent relationship with God you can begin trusting other people as well because you know that even if they let you down, God will always be there for you. It is a wonderful way to live your life!
