Our mission at Power to Change is simple: to help people discover a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and mobilize people with resources to share their faith and grow in their relationship with the Lord. Through our ministries, we work in cities across Canada and around the world to help people go on a journey of spiritual discovery. As you explore Power to Change, you will find more information about our ministries and resources to help you on your spiritual journey. All around the world, people are discovering new life in Christ, experiencing the power of the Holy Spirit as they take steps of faith, and inspiring others to do the same. I want to encourage you to engage in a Faith Adventure with Power to Change, and I pray that, together, we can impact Canada and the world. After all, God created us for a life of bold adventure!

ABOUT LEONARD

President, Power to Change

Leonard Buhler spent the first thirty years of his career in agriculture. After developing his family farm in Manitoba into a major commercial operation, he successfully expanded into the retail farming equipment industry in 1996. Deeply committed to his Christian faith, Leonard also gave his time to Campus Crusade for Christ Canada, directing one of their major campaigns in Manitoba and serving on the national board of directors from 2001 to 2003. In 2004, Buhler accepted the invitation to become the president of Campus Crusade. Bringing to bear his experience as an entrepreneur and his passion for innovation, Leonard led his team into a re-visioning process. In 2007, this process culminated in the organization’s name change from Campus Crusade for Christ Canada to Power to Change, which reflected the group’s desire to reposition itself to serve the nation in relevant and strategic ways. Today, Power to Change has over 550 staff working in thirteen different divisions throughout Canada and the world. The organization is united around a common purpose to help people discover who Jesus is and how He can change their lives. Secondly, Power to Change mobilizes followers of Jesus to care about and love the people in their spheres of influence in Canada and around the world. Leonard and his wife Debbie have four children – Amy, Mark, Nick and Jonathan – and one grandson, Mason. They live in Abbotsford, BC.

SPEAKER PROFILE

Innovative, entrepreneurial and adventurous – these words best capture Leonard Buhler’s approach to leadership and Christian ministry. Leonard’s passion is to unleash creative people, tools, and ideas in such a way that millions of Canadians will discover Jesus. Some people might find “millions” to be an intimidating figure, but Buhler thrives on challenges. As he puts it, “leaders are people who eat problems for breakfast.” Leonard Buhler developed his talent for innovation through thirty years in the agricultural industry. At one point in his career, Leonard was faced with twenty million pounds of potatoes to harvest and store over the course of one month. No machine with the capacity to clean and sort that many potatoes so quickly existed. Instead of giving up, Leonard invented one. Then he manufactured his invention for other farmers. Drawing on his decades of experience as a leader within the business and non-profit sectors, Leonard speaks on topics including:
