John Mark grew up in Jerusalem and was among the first generation Christians. He wrote the Gospel of Mark in 55 – 65 AD, especially for the Romans
Very soon after that Matthew, one of the disciples of Christ wrote his gospel, to give the Jewish believers the whole story.
Then Luke, a gentile convert who was fluent in Greek, and was prompted by the Holy Spirit, wrote the story of Jesus especially for the gentiles.
John, the youngest of the disciples, wanted to reveal more fully Jesus' person-hood. He knew Jesus first-hand, being one the 3 in the inner circle of His followers, and mentions (5 times) that he is “the one whom Jesus loved”. Later he writes the book of Revelation, giving Jesus' evaluation of the 7 churches 60 – 65 years after the resurrection & ascension of Jesus.
This is strong evidence that, according to Bible commentaries, the New Testament was written less than 100 years after the death of Christ.
Jesus says in John 14:26 “But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.” NIV. That is exactly what happened, so the writers could remember each incident and put down the exact words of Jesus. That same Spirit is my guide and councilor today. Rom 8:16-17 says:
16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children. 17 Now if we are children, then we are heirs — heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory. NIV.
We could not reach high enough to attain salvation, but God reached down (in sending Jesus) to save us. Jesus represented His Father fully, for He says in John 14:8-10
8 Philip said, "Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us."
9 Jesus answered: "Don't you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, 'Show us the Father'? NIV
That is indeed compelling evidence! The Bible has been proven to be true; so now it is not the Bible that is on trial, but we are! Salvation is free (but it costs us everything). Believe it and be saved, or go to a Christ-less eternity! 2 Cor 6:2 makes it very clear, “I tell you, now is the time of God's favor, now is the day of salvation.” NIV

This evidence is not exactly compelling. These quotes are okay if he existed (for which the evidence is a little thinner that I'd like), and if he said everything written in the Bible, which was written no less than 100 years after the death of Christ and not by Christ himself (by God through man, of course, if you're of that belief).
