Choose Joy: Whole-Hearted Devotion

Written by admin

The fruit of the Spirit is … JOY

Many of us have seen people who radiate joy. There is an attractiveness that draws others to them. Does it come naturally to them? Do they just have fewer problems than the rest of us or is there a way to cultivate this quality in our lives? Perhaps there are steps we can take to grow in this area. This study will help you consider how you can grow in your experience of God’s joy.

Questions to ponder: The first rule of philosophical discussion is: Define the terms under discussion. Before discussing joy, it is a good idea to seek to define it. Why not take some time to ponder some or all of the following questions, either alone, or with family or friends? What is joy? How do you define this word? Is there a difference between happiness and joy? If yes, what is it?  What produces joy and what hinders joy, in your opinion?
