Follow the Leader (Phil 3:12-4:1)

Written by truthmedia

Philippians 3:12-21. Philippians 4:1.

As we’ve journeyed through the book of Philippians together, we’ve seen Paul’s love for the believers at Philippi. His concern prompts him to give some very practical instructions about how to move forward in their walk with God. “Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal …” Then Paul challenges the believers to follow his example.

What about today? Are you following someone? Are there others who are watching your footsteps and thinking of following you? This study will help you learn how to press toward the goal, and how to live in such a way that others can grow closer to God as they follow you.

3. Forgetting what is behind..." Can the past slow you down? How can you deal with it so as to leave it in the past and reach to the future?
4. "I press on toward the goal..." What are some goals that God may have in your life?
5. In Phil 3:19-20 Paul gives a major contrast. What does it look like to focus on earthly things?
6. How does having a heavenly citizenship help your perspective on life?
7. What additional thoughts or questions do you have on this study?
