One of a toddler’s favorite questions is often “Why?” What drives this pursuit of meaning? Why is it so important to make sense of life? Take some time today to explore our God-given craving to find meaning.

1. One of the most persistent questions from the time we’re toddlers till we are old is “Why?” So often this question is a search for meaning. Why is it so important to us to find meaning, to make sense of our lives?

2. Erwin McManus states, “Searching for meaning is like breathing. It is something intrinsic to the human spirit.” Do you agree or disagree? Why?

In the video clip Erwin McManus contends, “Life will not make sense if you become the epicenter of all your understanding.” If we remain at the center and depend on ourselves to give meaning, we will be frustrated. Where else can we turn to begin to make sense of life?
