Victorious Prayer

Written by truthmedia
We will face times in our spiritual journey that either we or someone we love is in the midst of a battle. Before long, we find that we cannot manage to defeat the enemy in our own strength. A call for help is often our response. Who do we turn to? How should we pray during those times? Can we effectively support others in prayer? Join us below in exploring the place of prayer in spiritual battles.

1. How does one recognize a spiritual battle? More thoughts...
See Ephesians 6:12.
2. What role does prayer play during the battle? Are there instructions or examples for how to pray in these situations? More thoughts...
See Ephesians 6:18-20. Consider the prayer of the Psalmist in Psalm 20, as well as this Ephesians passage.
3. How does one pray offensively? How can we use prayer to advance into enemy territory with victory?
4. How can we be intercessors to pray for others? More thoughts...
To be an intercessor is to come to God in prayer on behalf of someone else. This may be a family member, a friend, or someone you've only heard about. If you do not regularly pray for the needs of others, consider using a prayer from Scripture (such as Ephesians 1:13-19 or Philippians 1:9-10) to pray for someone you care about.
5. What battles can you think of in Scripture? More thoughts...
Once again, you may wish to review Exodus 12, Joshua 6, 1 Samuel 17 or a number of other battles found in the Old Testament.
6. What can we learn from those battles? Are there principles we can glean for today?
7. How does God fight our battles for us?
8. Where does peace fit into the picture of spiritual battlefields? More thoughts...
Do you think peace with God means having no battles? Why or why not?
9. What additional thoughts or questions do you have on this study?
