  • In the United States, eight million women own their own businesses and employ more than twice that number of people (33% of businesses in the US).
  • Women control 80% of consumer spending in the United States.
  • In 1976, only 17% of all donations to political parties were made by women. By 1996, 23%.
  • Women are not only more involved in financial planning and investments, but now represent 25% of all e-trading.
  • 55% of all college degrees are earned by women.
  • In one generation, the average female salary has gone from 59% of the average male salary to between 80% and 85%.
  • According to the National Foundation for Women Business Owners, women-owned businesses–which account for one quarter of business in the economy worldwide–produce annual revenues of $2.3 trillion in the United States.
