My Soul

My soul craves God.  It may sound like a cliché, but it’s true.  God loves me.  He loves you, too. Regardless of what you’ve done or what’s been done to you, God wants to be a part of your life.

The best known verse in the Bible is John 3:16.  In The Message it’s translated this way:

This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life. God didn’t go to all the trouble of sending his Son merely to point an accusing finger, telling the world how bad it was. He came to help, to put the world right again.

God has reached out to you. He wants to be in your life, but he won’t force his way in.  Part of the way God proves his love for us is by letting us choose.    You can live with out God, but if you accept what Jesus did for you he will satisfy your soul cravings.

All relationships start with a conversation.   If you want God in your life, talk to him.   That’s what prayer is – talking to God.  You could pray something like this:

God I need you.  I don’t want to do this alone.  Thank you for loving me enough to send your son.  Forgive me for the wrong that I’ve done. Thank you for giving me a fresh start.   I invite you into my life.
