Discover Purpose

There are things we dream of doing one day, and there are things we wish we could forget. In the Bible, it says that Jesus came to make all things new. What would your life look like if you could start over with a clean slate? Jesus bravely sacrificed his life for you - this was all part of God’s plan to bring you and I back into relationship with him. He came, and died, and rose again to wipe the slate clean. God wants to be a part of your life. Is this the life for you?

Noblesse Oblige

The other day, I watched one of favorite old movies, the original 1944 version of The Canterville Ghost. It takes place in England during World War II and stars Charles Laughton, Robert Young, and a very young Margaret O’Brien.  Margaret was so endearing and spoke so beautifully as a child. In the film, the phrase “noblesse oblige” arises...... >Read More

The Winter of My…

What does winter say to your heart? “I prefer winter and fall, when you feel the bone structure of the landscape - the loneliness of it, the dead feeling of winter. Something waits beneath it, the whole story doesn’t show.”  ~Andrew Wyeth Winter is when... *bare branches stand out as scary stickmen. * blustery winds whip the last of...... >Read More

We know negative thinking can make...... >Read More

Nature goes through its seasons, as Solomon said in Ecclesiastes 3:1, “To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven.” (NKJV) Similarly, we have circumstances that bring rain, sunshine, heat, cold, storm, calm, dryness, fire, and flood....... >Read More

How to Pray God’s Promises

I have learned that the power of prayer is amazing. A prayer can break strongholds. When you pray earnestly, everything you ask that is according to God’s will comes to pass. I have broken chains of evil through prayer and I believe with all my heart that no evil shall follow me but goodness and mercy. Prayer is my... >Read More

How Does Your Garden Grow?

Do you love to tend a garden? Are you a prolific gardener, producing a bumper crop of everything you sow, or are you a threat to nature, killing even artificial plants? I tend to be somewhat closer to a threat! If you love to garden, what vegetables will you plant this year? Tomatoes, green beans, and lettuce are delicious.... >Read More

Are You Full of Dynamite?

“Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.” (Ephesians 3:20-21, emphasis mine) I’ve been pondering this scripture lately, especially the verse 20. As... >Read More
