When I get to heaven, I imagine Jesus pressing “play” on the highlight reel of my life. The dots will align. Intricately woven plot lines will merge into one story — God’s story of how he used me for his glory despite my weakness. I’ll see the ripple effect of every act of service and every time I shared Christ with others. Tremendous joy will be my reward!

Sometimes we get a glimpse of the eternal impact of our lives, but often, we have to wait. That word of encouragement you spoke yesterday — did it do anything? Last week when you shared the Gospel with your coworker — did it go in one ear and out the other? Not knowing how God is using us can be discouraging.

But take heart. Our acts of love and words of hope are a significant part of God’s plan to reach people. How can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them (Romans 10:14b)?

Your seeds matter! They are an integral part of seeing people journey towards Christ. The Apostle Paul saw how it unfolded in his ministry: I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow (1 Corinthians 3:6).

God calls us to be seed planters wherever we go. At work, at school, at home, or traveling abroad, it’s our responsibility to listen to the Holy Spirit and respond — to keep planting seeds and watering them faithfully. God will make them grow and, one day, incredible joy will be our reward.

One way of planting seeds is to partner financially with The Life Project to reach people for Christ.
