Gary Thomas points out the importance of discovering whether or not the person we are thinking of marrying is capable of having a really solid marriage. Do they know how to forgive? Do they have strong relationships with other people? Is this a person who will commit for life? When you choose a spouse, you’re literally betting your life that this is going to work, so go into it only after a lot of prayer and a great deal of careful consideration.
