life_beautytipsMany of you have asked and Julaine has answered:

A whiter smile

The new craze for whitening strips and gels can leave a dent in your wallet, but there is a way to give the illusion of a whiter smile without breaking the bank. [Getting] the look of whiter teeth is simple — just change your lipstick color. For yellow teeth try a blue based shade like red or whine. For gray teeth try a warm hue like bronze or cooper.

Beautiful locks

Are you tired of taking an hour to dry your hair? Use a metal core brush which retains the heat and cuts your drying time in half.

Once you have dried your hair in no time, you might have a little extra time to give your hair more body. An easy way to give your hair a lift is to gather your hair at the crown and tie it with an elastic band. Spray lightly with hairspray, and let dry. Flip your head over and remove the elastic. Shake and flip your head up and you will have fuller hair.

With winter upon us we all have experienced fly away hair, but there is an easy way to get rid of the frizz. To avoid the ‘finger in the light socket’ look simply rub hand lotion into your hands and lightly press on your hair. This will calm down the frizzes.

A healthy life

Still trying to stick to this year’s resolution of eating healthy? Want to have the feeling of fullness without eating a huge meal? Eat an apple! The fiber in the fruit activates hormones that tell the stomach that it’s full. If you experience a set back in your resolution, don’t get down, tomorrow is another day to start fresh.

If you want to eliminate that bloated feeling after a large meal, eat a cucumber. Cucumbers are a natural diuretic that will reduce bloating by speeding the removal of excess of water and sodium from your body. Another way to help lose unwanted pounds is to drink green tea. Studies show that green tea increases your metabolic rate.

If you can’t find a nail file when you need one, use a book of matches. Take the striking surface and file your nail and your nails will look good as new.

Carole, thank you for your positive and supportive comment with suggestions I totally agree with.

John, if you search online for the “Mediterranean diet” you will find statements like “Eating a Mediterranean diet can help your heart stay healthy and reduce your risk of obesity. The core concept behind this healthy diet is to eat like the people who live in the Mediterranean region. Fill your plate with fresh fruits and vegetables, healthy fats, whole grains, legumes and fish .” That’s a good way to get the specific suggestions you are seeking. Bon appetite!

That’s a good idea John. God has given us so much to be grateful for and as has been said before, our body is His temple and His gift to us. It is up to us what we do with it. My husband and I eat very little red meat sticking with chicken and fish. We eat a lot of rice and vegetables. Stay away from canned stuff because of the salt and go fresh as much as possible. My prayers are with each and everyone of us trying to make our lives better and more productive by watching what we put in our bodies. God Bless!

My wife and I made it our New Year’s resolution to start being healthier, but we’re not quite sure how to get started. Would you suggest looking online for different blogs and websites that talk about different health tips we can employ to start being healthier? Things like the article mentions about how eating an apple to stay full are what we’re looking for.

Carole, thank you for your note and do try especially the green tea. My wife and several of her friends love a peach flavored one. And may God bless you today, too, with exactly what you need today!

Maria, thanks for that . . . and external beauty is enhanced by an internal sense of peace. BTW, the “eat an apple” suggestion really works. My wife and I share one almost daily about 4 PM and it does cut down on our dinner appetite, helping weight control. Blessings everyone!

Hi Victoria thank you for this solid advice

Hi Victoria and thank you for your encouraging comment. We are blessed and pleased whenever an article is appreciated by someone. We have a responsibility to care for our bodies as they are the temple of the Holy Spirit and enable us to exercise the gifts He has given us. (1 Cor 12: 4-18 talks about this.) These gifts are given us to help us build up the Church body and to bring all of us closer to Christ. (See Eph 4:12-13.) What an amazing God we serve that He would entrust us with the incredibly complex bodies we . . . and then bless us with the ability to share love, joy, peace, kindness and gentleness with one another. Thank You, Lord Jesus!

  • I especially appreciate your care about the people’s life beauty please keep it up

Very interesting article, especially the cucumber, apple and green tea. I would add that taking garlic & onion concentrate is also a great body-cleanse, – do it on a week to 10-day camping trip.
Another dimension to beautification is to be spiritually in tune with God; then our deep inner joy, peace and love will shine through our face and our actions! It just radiates naturally from us! Blessings to each one of you.

Very good article and some valuable comments here, surely it will help me as well as all.,

  • Brenda says:

I agree with you that there are many great points in this article. Thank you for these tips, Julaine! I especially appreciate the ones that help with caring for ourselves in a healthy way, such as eating the apple, the cucumber, and drinking the green tea, for our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. While It is great to get some inexpensive beauty tips, I am personally very grateful that God looks at the inside and sees our hearts: “7 But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the LORD does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.” [NKJV]

  • You made some decent points there. I did a search on the issue and found most individuals will go along with with your blog.
