Canadians Send Help
As the crisis in Ethiopia continues to escalate, Canadians have responded. Global Aid Network (GAiN) CEO Bill Blaney was recently featured on CBC prior to departure for Ethiopia. In the interview, Blaney discusses the African crisis and his purpose of travel.
His goal, along with staff, other NGOs, and the local church, is to set up feeding programs for groups of 500-1000 people. By identifying specific groups with ID numbers, Blaney and staff plan to buy local food, which has been grossly inflated to otherwise unattainable levels, and distribute it in a controlled fashion.
GAiN’s response is characteristic of their mission to demonstrate the love of God, in word and deed, to hurting and needy people around the world, through relief and development projects. Many thanks to all the Canadians who have supported Blaney and staff through GAiN. Continue to help, spread awareness, and pray for the situation. Keep Blaney and staff in your prayers as they seek to give life and dignity, through the compassion of Christ, to a starving region of Africa.
