In the coming weeks, Power to Change will initiate theLife™, a national strategy to engage, train and unleash God’s people for evangelism.
About a month ago, I was the guest speaker at Lighthouse Christian Church in Surrey, BC. For the first time, we introduced theLife™in a church setting. That morning left me with a mental snapshot – an image of Pastor Nar Orlina.
When you talk to Pastor Nar about his church, you can hear the love in his voice. Just five years old, the congregation has about 150 members. Almost everyone is a Filipino immigrant, and most are recent Christians. Pastor Nar has dreams. He wants to see his congregation become passionate and bold enough to draw people into conversations about Jesus.
During my message, I offered Pastor Nar’s church the chance to sign theLife™ card– a commitment to be ready, anytime, anywhere, at any cost, to do anything in reaching their world for Jesus. “Perhaps you want to sign it right now,” I said. “Or maybe you want some time to think it over.”
“I was just hoping for even one,” Pastor Nar admitted later on. But that is not what happened. Instead, I watched Pastor Nar stand up front, head bowed. Person after person walked forward to drop a signed card into his open hands. That is the picture I can’t get out of my head: Pastor Nar, stunned and joyful, hands full of cards. Each card representing someone whose longing to make their life count had just been reawakened by the Holy Spirit.
I believe this is a snapshot of what God wants to do across our nation. My dream is to see theLife™ encompass one million Christ-followers united in a movement to transform Canada with the love of Jesus. I hope you will consider joining us on what is sure to be an incredible faith adventure.
